So for the last week or so i've been playing witcher 1 very carefully so i can import it to witcher 2 and make sure i make good decisions etc, however i am currently nearing the end of the game and am on the neutral path and i've heard of a bug that kind of dissappoints me.

The bug is, If you choose the Neutral Path in witcher 1, no matter if you choose to let siegfried live or die the witcher 2 assumes you killed Siegfried? Does this still occur? If so that's kind of dissappointing because i'm trying to be a very nice person in the witcher and this is very sad if this bug hasn't been fixed because i don't want to have to kill him in 1 although i will have to since it's kind of game breaking to save him in witcher 1 only to have it assumed i killed him in witcher 2.

Also i would like to ask if the sword Harvall Imports? It seems to have much better stats than most of the others swords so i was wondering if it imports.

I don't know if it's a bug or not, but I've noticed that you can only meet Siegfried in TW2, if you sided with the Order in TW2 - so even the Neutral path will prevent the two of you from having a chat. Like I said, I don't know if this is a bug, or working as intended; but I always assumed it was intentional.

As for the swords that are imported into TW2, any named sword - including Harvall - that you have equipped, will be added to your inventory at the beginning of the game (either at the Prologue, or the start of Chapter 1). Raven's Armour, if you have it, will also be imported.

And the stats diminished.

I took the Neutral path and chose to save Seigfried, and in the Witcher 2 I was not able to meet him but it also never mentioned that I had killed him. I think it just means that we don't cross paths again. I doubt that whether or not I actually killed him would have changed anything in the Witcher 2, but at least it was not contradicted.

I should note, however, that I've only taken one of the two paths available in The Witcher 2 so far, so perhaps on the other path I would hear more about Siegfried. Not sure.

Yeah, Kindo had it right; you must import a save in which you took the Order path to meet Siegfried. Think of it as your delayed consequence for helping Siegfried become Grand Master.

I don't believe Harvall imports. Harvall can be bought in Act III; its statistics are appropriate to that point in the game.

Yeah i guess that would make sense then, as i thought it probably would be way overpowered that early in the game.

Not really sure which steel sword to import then, i guess G'valchir is the best option, I already decided that Moonblade is probably the best silver sword to import.

Ah, sorry. I was thinking of Mahakaman Rune Sihil. You're right, Harvall doesn't import, but can be obtained in Chapter 3 instead.

Yes, and that sword is very handy at the start of the game.

i am playing witcher 2 enhanced edition now with imported save from witcher 1.

i finished witcher 1 with neutral path with siegfried alive.

but in witcher 2 second chapter, the game says that i killed him in the past.

well i am kinda disappointed that this bug hasn't been fixed for nearly a year

Yes, It happened the same to me. Some Flame Order Knight tried to kill me, saying I killed Siegfried. It was a total dissapointment

I am not sure it is a bug. In any case, it is not fixed, and it will not be fixed unless someone mods the game for it.

It occurs only if you follow the Neutral path and side with Yaevinn at the bank, whether or not you fight Siegfried at Vizima. In this case, Tybalt accuses you of Siegfried's death, and Siegfried is not at Loc Muinne.

If you follow the Neutral path, side with Siegfried at the bank, and do not fight Siegfried in Vizima, you are not attacked at the Kaedweni camp, and Siegfried is present at Loc Muinne.

If you sided with Yaevinn at the bank, the Scoia'tael received funds and credit to buy arms. They would use those arms to inflict greater casualties on the Order. In the extended fighting that follows the Epilogue on the neutral path, they might have been able to attack and kill Siegfried.

The Order would not be unjustified in blaming Geralt for Siegfried's death; it is well known in Vizima that the Scoia'tael success at the bank was due to Geralt's actions.

Unfortunately, the game will typically assume you killed Siegfried even if, like me, you went to great lengths to make sure he stayed alive. The only way to keep him alive is to go down the order path. I personally imported a Witcher path save and one Order knight said I killed Siegfried, but the Order knights in the final chapter didn't attack me because I didn't necessarily fight them in the final parts of the original Witcher. Also any weapons or armor you have on hand in the save you import for Witcher 1 will be on you when you start Witcher 2. My Aerondite and Raven armour for instance transfered no problems.
