same problem here people no mather my settings in witcher i get sturrer

3.9 GHz OC e7200
4850 512 DDR3
4 GB ram 800 dual chanel x2

I'm playing at the lowest Fraps tell me it's 60 and above and it sturrer like hell
I'm playing on max settings (without uber) game is 30-40 and it won't sturrer as much.

Weirdest thing ever. As above dude i played without sturrer on 1.0 after 1.1 patch removing drm game is giving me head ache,

It's nut sturrer for loading anything because HDD led is not blinking it's just systematic sturrer.

standing in place game doesn't sturrer only going foward.

I think it's problem with big memory leak or some with new exe don't working so great after removing DRM.

I writing here because withcer forum to this date don't exist :( i have retail version patched :/
I had the same issue when playing; the frame-rate would be at 40-50 fps but there would still be stuttering every several frames. For me playing in windowed mode instead of fullscreen stopped the issue completely and now the game runs at whatever the fps is with no stuttering.

Ok now i'm mad ;/ Windowed mode work like magic but fullscreen sturrer as hell...
I've been having this issue myself. Using an AMD GPU, quadcore, 2 gigs of RAM. Would be great to see it resolved at some point, so I can actually play the game (it's bad enough that I've simply put the game on hold until there's a fix)

Apart from the RAM, that really doesn't tell us much, and 2 GB of RAM these days really isn't enough for gaming.

I wouldn't be holding your breath waiting for a fix, as it sounds like the problem is with your system's performance and ability.

JDHusky: Before you ask, I think I have the problem in mind. But I'll just ask for the sake of confirmation. This isn't micro stuttering since I'm only using a single GPU. I see upwards of 34-50fps in normal (medium-high) settings @ 1680x1050 and 60+ with everything dropped to the barebone-minimum (still at 1680x1050).

First off, my spec:
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate SP1
E8400 (OC'd to 3.6Ghz, I'm not upping the voltage until I clean the dust out of my heatsink. And my case is f*ing heavy to have to carry out to my air compressor. And no it's not overheating as it doesn't break 55c under full load anywhere xD)
2Gb DDR800 (5-5-5-15) <-- Culprit... possibly. Other stick died not too long ago.
1Tb Seagate Barracuda (with 200+ Gb left)
GTX 275 (896Mb)
Asus P5Q
Corsair VX550W (stable volt readings across the board)

I've already installed the 275.33 WHQL certified drivers, uninstalled the 3D nVidia vision drivers (controller and driver itself), patched to 1.2, killed all Win7 services that don't need to run (Idle Win7 usage just hovering around 500Mb, leaving me with 1.5Gb RAM), set my RAM timings accordingly, OC'd my CPU, defragged my HDD, set all my ini variables minimally (lows mat tex sizes, max downscaling, disabling all shader options) and yet... I'm left with this odd f*in stuttering from time to time.

I'm only left to believe it's my ram. That somehow even with Witcher 2 set at its possibly lowest setting (lower than you could ever set with the Configurator (DAMN YOU *shakes fist*)) yet still meeting MINIMAL requirements (mostly the ram since that's the least of everything else I have).

But to re-state this. I do meet the minimum RAM requirement of 2Gb. It's clocked properly and that should be that. :(

Anyone with some tips? Think I've exhausted pretty much all my options.

But thats for the future. I'm really hoping to tack this problem on the forehead so I don't go spending money too quickly and causing problems. xD

Though the 2 gigs of RAM is difficult I think there is a solution but you may have to give a little back to lower settings UGGH! I do not know what your monitor is but you can use some adjustments to max your speed even with a small cutback in resolution if it can be supported.

1- In 2006 with Vista's introduction they made a provision for low memory machines called Robeson's Technology@ which has carried over to Win 7 as well. For under US$20.00 you can buy a Robeson capable flashdrive. (I recommend as the fastest one I've tested is the Patriot@
Xporter XT 200 - I like the 8gig version the best which I have seen for as little as US$15.00)
Most of my client's have had under-rammed laptops and this has done wonders for them if you patiently wait an extra minute or two while booting so it can take effect. It will give you 4gigs of "pseudoram" (not cache or virtual ram) for files which are historically called by the cache frequently. Additional Ram would definitely be preferred but this may be your inexpensive fix.

2- Your monitor may be a 16:9 which at max settings can only run at 60mhz. Try to find a decent (even if 5:4 or 4:3) setting which will run at a higher rate. I have found that I have had my best result running at 1280x1024 (5:4) at 75mhz to compensate for my poor video card and have not had any crashes, stuttering or wait times. Most of my NVidea and TW2 settings are medium with a couple high and a couple reduced to low and the game is still very pretty; albeit I do lose the "widescreen" effect ( like what happens when an old TV plays a widescreen movie.)

Rig: Feb 2008 build: SM C2SBA+ii workstaion MB E8400 3.0 ghz (no overclocking) 8gigs ddr2 mem, EVGA 600mhz 9500 1gig Ram video card. Two 160 gig HDD for OS' and Two 500gig WD 7200 Blue SATA HDD in Raid 0 array, dual OS - Win2k and Vista 64. (6 other storage HDD) Monitor/TV is Samsung 260 HD TOC.

Dude i don't want to offend you but all above is complete bullshit.

1.Vista or Win7 Flash based support for Ram is road to nowhere and pure PR crap.

2. "Your monitor may be a 16:9 which at max settings can only run at 60mhz"

.60Hz is perfectly normal for gaming i use one 1080p at 60Hz without problems dude.

Problem is that after recent patches Witcher 2 sturrers in Fullscreen mode where in windowed mode everything is perfecly ok.

As for Ram 2 GB of Ram for witcher 2 is not so high but still shouldn't cause any problems like we have here. It would cause hickups with 0FPS moments not sturrer with 60FPS

Good thing is that witcher forum already was relunched so maybe their 2.0 edition will fix this problem.

I use a 32-bit version of Windows 7, PC is Phenom II X4 at 2.7GHz, HD6950 and 4GB DDR2 RAM at 800Mhz..

Is anyone with HD6950(or similar) card observing shuttering or lower speeds between Fullscreen and Window Mode, because I get 1-2 frames less on my FPS counter when I run in Window Mode. But gameplay is more or less the same...no difference in the areas I checked.

Game Patch 1.35, Catalyst 11.6 + CAT 11.6 CAP3

Can someone provide a save state, without mods...so that I can check it out on my end.

(If its with MODS, I currently only have 4....HUD, Panel, Better Combat + Unlocker and CEO)

I'll be glad to help out (or try it figure out what triggers it, if it happens on my system)

Perkel: maybe their 2.0 edition will fix this problem.
What "2.0 edition"?

The only 2.0 of anything for The Witcher 2 is a new trailer, "Riverside - Forgotten Land".

There is no patch or upgrade that's 2.0.
Don't confuse people. The video is talking about the Witcher 2 v2.0, not yet released. It was teased at the end of the Riverside video and is to be shown at Gamescom.

Mblackwell1024: Don't confuse people.
Don't spread misinformation, there is no The Witcher v2.0.

It's only for a new music video, "Riverside - Forgotten Lands":

http://www.thewitcher.com/the-witcher/2/videos/trailers/

At the end of the video it states "Soon, New & Improved v2.0".

People wrongly thought it meant a new game or patch, and it spread via the Internet.

This message ONLY appears on this one video.

There is no mention elsewhere, and this video has been "updated" once before.

And there is no mention of the game in the message, it's simply for that video only.

Do you really think that if there was such a huge update, from v1.35 to v2.0 that it would be posted just on one video at the end?

Misinformation? You've apparently haven't heard the word "teaser" before. It was already mentioned a week or so ago that they would be announcing something big for the PC version at Gamescom. In fact it says, "For more information visit us at Gamescom 2011" right after that. This was just a fun little confirmation. They did the same thing with Witcher 2 promo videos.

No point in arguing, you're simply wrong.

I wasn't "arguing" and I may be wrong (I REALLY hope I am), but so may you.

You can't draw any conclusion with certainty based on that scant information.

Time will tell, and I'll believe it when I see it.

2.0 ediotion is mentioned in trailer you watched. It isn't dude FAN made trailer it's OFFICIAL. And people from CDPR said already before they plan to release big patch for their game with XBOX360 content for free...

What other 2.00 could it mean dude ?
