StingingVelvet: Well, there are at least 4-5 more AAA RPGs coming, so... not that safe really.

Uns33n: Yes, possible. However, how many of those will use role playing to an effective extent? Let's see :)
Are you baiting me for a debate on what an RPG is? Because I am so very tired of that debate to be honest.

The Witcher 2 excels at some aspects of RPGs and utterly fails at or does not even contain others. It's all pretty subjective. If Dead State makes it out this year it will inevitably be considered a better RPG than The Witcher 2 by people who value different definitions of what an RPG is.

Uns33n: One of the biggest release in 2012 apart from ME3 is going to be Diablo III :D

Again, Mass Effect 3 is going to be further simplified (like ME2 over ME1 and Dragon Age 2 over DA: O) :(

Diablo III on the other end, will be a super polished product! Blizzard never disappoints in this regard. Never.

I do hope we get a nice quality regular supply of DLCs for Witcher 2!!!

glosoli: It's Blizzard. No one can be sure about the exact release date :)
So true! It will come out "When it's done" :P

I wonder how ME3 can be further simplified since ME2 is very streamlined already. :) Unless making it a straight shooter.
GOTY i think W2 wouldn't made it.. RPG of the year we still have strong contender.. Skyrim

Hmmm, I think I get your point. RPGs are extremely hard to define because of its subjective elements, usage and structure.

Unless, it is a total screw-up like Dragon Age 2!!! :P anyway, I hope Bioware doesn't make that mistake.

if any company would work on Vampire the Masquerade series, my vote would certainly goes to them. Bloodlines was a magnificent game with full of bugs. Some ppl still fixing the bugs. worths.

Oh, I loved Bloodlines so very much! It was just so great that I almost completely ignored bugs!!! Some patches fixed things and as you say, fans are still making quality updates for it! Bloodlines is pure awesomeness. Sadly, I do not think anyone is going to make another in the series anytime soon :/
I don't understand the hype for Skyrim, Oblivion was a massive disappointment for me.. game was garbage

i'm not saying The Witcher 2 is perfect, it has it's faults for sure (the UI for one) but it's head and shoulders above pretty much every game i've played this year

Guess i'm hoping i'm wrong and Skyrim turns out to be a good game, the more good games the better right? :P
I don't see anything on the horizon to challenge TW2, save perhaps Skyrim. It will have to be as "awe inspiring" as Oblivion to even have a chance, I think.

For myself, while I liked the open ended world and certainly the graphics of Oblivion, I'm not a big fan of the lore. TW2's my RPG of the year, at least - so far.

Other than Oblivion, TES games are brilliant. That's a good reason for having great expectations for Skyrim. Also, previews are great.

Yep! And the less DRM they have, the better. :)

First off the majority of people did not consider it garbage, and most of the hype comes from them. It sold a ton of copies and reviewed very highly. Second off even people who considered it disappointing like myself still like it for what it does well like exploration. Finally, Bethesda made two amazing RPGs before it, Daggerfall and Morrowind, and a better RPG after it, Fallout 3. It's not like Oblivion is the only thing they have done.

Oh I agree, I did enjoy Morrowind for example.. but to go from that to Oblivion... it's like Bioware going from Origins to Dragon Age 2... but worse :z

Oblivion is a good game, too. I actually like it but after a masterpiece like Morrowind, ppl expect more. Oblivion's main story is bad but side quests are quite fun especially Dark Brotherhood and Daedric quests.
