Skyrim is a console port..its already crippled..its already below Witcher 2 standards. Its main market is consoles..everyone knows this but hopes they give the PC gamers support..

i like ya scores arimakun.. but even DA:O wasnt that awesome :P
da's art direction looks too cartoon-like. can't really enjoy something that looks like a turd.
Witcher 2 has ruined grass for me. I literally cannot look at a blade of grass without thinking how Witcher 2's looks better. This game has eclipsed real life.
When I was stuck in chapter 1 for a while because of all the issues with the "Troll Trouble" DLC I played Fable III for a day or so....

Man....words fail me...

Fable seemed so incredbly CHILDISH in comparison with TW2, like something with the intellectual depht fo a Jump'n'Run game. (Nothing against them, they have their place, but I am talking about content, character and storyline here)

BUT Fable is much easier on my hardware, so that's a plus :)

arimakun: For me:

DA:O = 9.2

DA:2 = 6.5

TW1 EE = 8.4

TW2 = 9.3* (not final, will be adjusted once I finish the game)
For me

DA:O = 9.5
DA2 = refuse to even play until it hits $10.00 or less bin
ME = 9.8
ME2= 4.9
The Witcher = 9.5
The Witcher 2 = 7.5

Let me be clear, I love The Witcher 2 in every area but gameplay/combat and that is where The Witcher 2 loses points drastically!

Put DA:O combat/gameplay with TW2 (everything else) and you have a 9.5-9.8 game.

I hope and pray many independant developer studios see TW2 critical acclaim and success and come out with mature/adult based games of their own in the future!

I WILL BUY The Witcher 3 (and pray they have better combat/gameplay in it)

TW2 was not as good as DA:O or ME1 or even TW1, but its still a billion times better then kid crap like ME2 and DA2.

And im a huge Witcher fanboi who has boughten all the games and books
uno what ive noticed is overlooked on witcher 2 ?

the lack of gay shit throughout each character that a small minority have apparently forced bioware to do..epic fail bioware...

good to see the gay priders aint ruined another game series :)

Yeah, and I love the way there's no black people in it. The one on the Normandy in ME2 really ruined that series for me.

Stop being a dick and take your homophobia elsewhere.

trucane: No offense but RPGs like Arcanum, Fallout and Baldurs gate ruined the whole RPG genre for me. I can't think of a single RPG i played in the last few years without thinking "Meh I still rather just reinstall one of the good old classics once agaiN".
Don't forget Planescape: Torment. What a damn fine game that was.
Skyrim may be a console port but that doesnt matter. What matters if people buy it and since its a elder scrolls title, its going to sell better then Witcher 2, thats just a fact. Sure Old School types might not like it but mainstream players out number hardcore players by like 100 to 1

Combat in Tw2 blows 1 out of the water whata re you smoking? 1 was retarded, just click, click, no blocking, just mindless time your attacks the the big flame on the sword, get real.

Tw2 blows 1 away.

Not better then Dragon age? Give me a break. Tw2 blows anything bioware has done since baldurs gate.
I think people are entitled to their opinions, though I admit following that philosophy removes 99% of the reason people post on forums. :/

Pioneer161: I was disappointed with modern RPGs and Dragon Age 2. It's dated visuals, bland story and forgettable characters made me drop it fairly quick. Mass Effect is becoming more like a shooter to appease the players who have no interest in RPGs to begin with. Risen and Gothic 4 were both buggy and unpolished.

Spending an entire day roaming the forest, taking time to explore every nook and cranny, complete any and all tasks available, scour vendors for recipes for traps, bombs, swords and other disposal methods is not something I have done since Morrowind and the days of Baldur's Gate. The detailed environments coloured me awestruck; that this came out the same year as Dragon Age 2 is somewhat of a harsh slap to Bioware. The colourful characters, twisting story, plethora of strategies and smooth animations bring together the sum of its parts to create something truly wondrous.

I've only just completed Chapter 1 and I'm reticent to continue as it draws me closer to the end. I'm adamant that each RPG I player hereon will be compared to The Witcher 2.

GG CDPR.
Well put. I been taking my sweet time as well. Still on Act 1 myself and I bought this game 1 day after the official release date in the states. I thought I had checked every nook and cranny and was about to do the main quest line to finish off act 1, that was until I realized I never read the bulletin board quests that hang outside the tavern in Act 1. Now I have more side quests to do...yay me!!! lol

Does it matter if a game like Skyrim is a console port? Don't get me wrong, I think that the most powerful system should always be the lead platform, but for a game that will probably be as modable as its predecessors I can't see the PC version being crippled graphically, with a low quality UI for long.
As for The Witcher 2 ruining other RPG's, well I can't comment on that since I can't play the game for any extended length of time before it crashes.
I don't really care to make a statement like TW2 is better than DA:O

All I know is, I prefer TW2 over DA:O immensely. Doesn't mean TW2 is better, it just means it appeals to me more.

DA:O lacked a compelling decision making gameplay. Same for ME 1. Actually all games from BioWare in the last 4 years have been this way. It's nothing compared to how my decision in the prologue in TW2 has an lasting impact up through Chapter 3. It's awesome. It's amazing that my decision in Chapter 1 leads to a completely different set of quests and different perspective of what's happening in Chapter 2. Nothing even remotely close occurs in any of the recent BioWare games.

And for that reason, DA:O and ME 1 bored me. They were fun games, but I was never mesmerized or enthralled. I was entertained, about as much as I was entertained by watching the movie, The Man from Nowhere. DA:O and ME 1 as far as I'm concerned were interactive movies, not RPG games.

I haven't played Oblivion IV yet, so I look forward to that, have read great things. And when Skyrim comes out, I'll check that out also.

But I'll be skipping DA3 and ME3, I won't even bother with any more boring interactive movies from BioWare.

Dragon Age O was a bad attempt to make a real old school rpg, bioware has not made a good RPG since kotor. TW 2 is betetr then anything they have done for a very long time. Sorry, but origins was not that good at all, full of typical Bioware rpg bastardization.

Yes it matters as oblivion was terrible, terrible levelling, cookie vutter dungeons, worst dialog known to man, no dialog options linear quests, broken skills (speech mini game WTF). Mods can only fix so much.
