My problem is exactly the same as this guy:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytd7vR0Mp3w

So, totally unplayable.

First of all, I've been looking for a solution for my problem for 2 days, read nearly all the forums available and still nothing.

My specs (Acer Aspire 3820TG)

i5-430M (2.26)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD5650
4 GB DDR3 memory

1, YES, I have downloaded the latest drivers for EVERYTHING.
2, YES, I have marked "use application settings" in CCC
3, YES, my screen resolution is exactly the same as the game (1366x768)

But NO, I still cant play :(((

Free beer for the solution!!!! :D

(oh, and a Jobs-like One More Thing:
4, YES, I have installed 1.2 patch)

Hoi
I recently had some issues too.
It doesnt look exactly like your problem, but maybe it is kind of a brother of it.
I needed to change some settings in the user.ini.
so maybe you check that out.

Thanks to redirect to my previous post ^^

But it seems to be another problem, because all textures are here (Geralt looks normal), but all polys are glitching around like crazy...

In the Catalyst Control Center, try enabling (or disabling if already enabled) the "Alternate Pixel Center" if available, in the Direct3D advanced settings.

That may solve the problem, or not ^^

I changed the settings, but it didn't help...

And I don't have that kind of option :(
Try setting the catalyst AI on "Standard" instead of "Advanced".
If no changes, try disabling it.

Did you tried to unistall your drivers, clean them with a cleaner software like Driver Cleaner, then did a clean reinstall ?

I try to help without an ATI card, so i set my advices upon an old experience, but changes in software may had fool me ^^

Install, uninstall, reinstall, everything...

No change...
It looks like an over heating problem to me. Have you checked your temps?
Hey, I've got the same graphics card, and am having the same problem. It's an HP, and it's not designed that well heat-wise, so it could be overheating, but I hope not. I had the same issue with the Witcher, when grass was on, but otherwise it ran fine, and the problem went away if grass was off. I can't download the latest drivers since the graphics card is switchable, and HP hasn't updated the drivers. I've also tried messing with the CCC settings, and lessjake's suggestion, but it didn't solve the issue.

Edit: As soon as I posted this, I went to see if I could update my ATI drivers. Turns out the latest version (11.6) is compatible with switchable graphics cards, though the version i downloaded was a link from a forum (to the ati website) and says "ocl" at the end, and I'm not sure what that means. In any case, these new drivers made it work, though at low settings.

The problem with grass may be caused by Geometry instancing, in Direct3D settings. Nonetheless, your problem is maybe different than retsam89's one, even if he can try switching this setting...
Hey!

The new catalyst 11.6b solved ALL of my problems!
