Achieves might make me play Insane mode but having to start over really turns me off.
because hard was too wasy for me? (except Operator boss may be, and kayran when i tried to kill him first time - didn't know what should I do when he starts throwing stones at me)
For Achievement on Steam and it really requires planning fights, drinking potions, using bombs quite often etc.. but i really hate mods that allows restoring the insane saves.

i made my tool after i completed this game twice on insane and lost all my saves from first playthrough because i died after loading one of the saves (to show my friend Operator boss on insane). If you hate it - don't use it. I made it not for cheating, but how you use it is up to you -.-
I wonder about two things:
1, if i reinstall my game (maybe on a different computer) can I still load my insane saves? (probably not)

2, If I die after finishing the game and reloading to a previous save-I know all saves become marked with skull, but would it be still possible to import my final save in witcher 3?-I guess no answer for this, but would be nice to know.

copy/paste GameData reg key, this should work
Playing through Insane has got nothing to do with achievements, bragging rights or anything like that.

It has everything to do with how you play in response to this extremely harsh FORCED penalty hanging over you. My entire playstyle changed moving to Insane difficulty, its the same game but a vastly different experience. You use EVERY tool at your disposal and you do your best to be over prepared for everything. Going into a tough fight is nerve wrecking as is scraping through a fight on 5 hp.

IMO, the best TW2 experience is found in Insane difficulty, just as long as you don't die =)
I play it on Insane because:

- I finished the game twice in hard. One for each path, so I raised the bar for next runs.
- Long time Hardcore Diablo 2/LOD player - There's nothing like the feeling of never dying! Unless we do. Then we start again and do a lot better, and again, and again...
- Adrenaline, tension, jumping in the chair cheering for a dead kayran and whatever the game throw at us.
- Feels like being an elite player since, like others have said, the challenge makes us give our best and experience with the game is the best weapon we have. Never ceases to improve too.
- I'm actually insane! =)

trying to solo on hell difficulty in HC ladder as sorceress after 1.09 is a pain in the ass -.- Never finished it - just can't complete hell difficulty =/

This.

My gameplay is completely different going through on insane... I potion up every trip I take into the forest, I move slowly, examing my surroundings carefully... it makes me feel much more like a real witcher.

I'm not telling you "don't use it". If anyone likes, he/she uses. I just expressed my opinion, I hate using such a tool to get an achievement. That idea is for the high school level minds. otherwise I don't care who uses.

Question about Insane:

If we lose a fight when controling characters other than Geralt, does it count as death? Like Yorveth vs Roche? I would love to let Henselt kick Stennins' ass if it doesn't flag my Insane game as "dead".. hehe

EDIT: Never mind. At least for that fight it makes no difference whatsoever! =)

For that fight it makes no difference, yes, but in other places you shouldn't die :)

Kyozo: Insane is actually quite easy once you master the tools youre given in game.

Here are some videos I made having fun with Insane = D
