Even on the lowest settings, it's like I'm playing an online game and getting over 1k ping.
Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 @ 2.66ghz
4gb DDR2 Ram
ATI Radeon HD5750
So I'm slightly above Recommended. Ubersampling is off, EVERY effect is set to its lowest possible (AA and AF are off, texture compression at highest, etc.), playing in 1440x900 (native res). Even in cutscenes the game is chopping, playing in windowed mode doesn't help, and I don't have any settings activated in my ATI profile.
The lag is actual lag, like, I'll give Geralt an order (ie. tap "W" to move forward"), and it takes a few seconds before he responds. Game is unplayable right now due to this.
I'm guessing a few patches will sort it out. I'd replay Witcher 1 in the meantime but the swamp sections... :(
EDIT: It looks like it probably is my processor. I thought the Dual Core was in the recommended specs, but it's actually minimum, so that would explain the terrible performance. Not interested in upgrading right now, so at least when I do get around to it the game will be in a better state than it is currently (patches, DLC). The game was a gift, so not really a loss.
