Assuming and hoping that a Witcher 3 gets made :)

Whenever I want to hold on to save files for a game, I usually compress the save folder and upload them to a cloud service (Skydrive) where they remain safely for the months/years until I need them again. Assuming that Witcher 2 saves will be importable into Witcher 3, I'd like to hold on to my saves to preserve my choices. The issue is, my Witcher 2 save folder is 2.2GB in size and it would be a hassle to upload it all.

It seems logical to backup the last few autosaves/quicksaves only but I figured since CDPR folks visit the forum, maybe I'd be able to get a more accurate idea from them.

Considering that TW2 only accepts TW1 saves from the very end of the game, it's pretty safe bet to say that only the last autosave is needed.
it makes a save right after the credits, so i imagine that would be the save to import for tw3 or any expansions

Are you sure? I thought it just showed the 5-x most recent ones.

I have more than 80 saves for tw1 (only from one play), and the import on tw2 only shows the last two that are in the Ice Plains. I was slightly disappointed that they wouldn't show you what happened in the save you import.

It even says so on the sticky: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/common_issues_and_possible_solutions_read_before_posting
I just put the last autosave the game made after the epilogue into a folder that explains the ending (who i sided with, major characters who lived or died) I got so i can keep track of em.
As it turns out, Winrar compressed the 2.2GB save folder down to 170MB so I decided to split the archive and upload the whole thing to Skydrive, making this thread somewhat moot.

Thanks to everyone for their replies :)
