I'm noticing a distinct lack of Scamperdoodle in the new forums.

The new forum looks terrible and hardly anyone writes in it. I feel like I'm done with CDP, The Witcher and being part of the community...for now. Perhaps later, when(if) they fix the design and the old posters return. What they did to the forum was ridiculous. They lost the PC community, which is the most important. No mod tools yet (as far as I know) which is just a bad move.
The game itself became too much Mass Effect and too little Gothic. Cheesy dialogue, binary choices, dumbed-down alchemy, fucking QTEs. The fighting system seemed deep at first, but (arguably) it turned out to be a shallow button mash...
Leveling is ridiculous. You get very little experience at first and later +4 levels every five minutes. Too little side quests. Almost none monster hunting. Voice acting was a step backwards. No Thaler, Zoltan's voice changed. Wait, only Geralt's voice remained the same...
The 16 different endings were just combinations of 4 binary choices. Hm...yeah. Music was...just ok. And a step backwards from The Witcher 1. No "Believe" in the credits. Flashbacks were terrible. You didn't really get to know any character. Too much wasted potential. The political situation is interesting, though.
But I expected something completely different from the story. When the said that there was a big choice completely changing Chapter 2 I thought it was screwing everything and leaving with Triss to regain your memory. But, when everything was going fine they just...kidnapped Triss and you didn't get to see her Until the very ending. How original and unpredictable /sarcasm.
I expected much more. Even though the game was...not as good as I expected...I hoped there will be great discussions on the forum. But no! There was NO FORUM FOR THREE FUCKING MONTHS. I expected some great mods with that new, fancy engine. But no modding tools!
PS I was thinking of making a thread about this, but I didn't see the point of doing this in neither the new nor this forum. These are just my thoughts, as The Witcher 1 is my favorite game. I was always defending the innovations in The Witcher 2 back before the game was released and I am not one to critique just for the sake of it...quite contrary. Perhaps it is best that this post stays buried in this topic :)

Are we talking about the same forum? It's much more active than this one here, and it's only been around for one day. Are you actually going in the subforums, or just watching the main page? That main page only updates with new topics, not new replies.

And the forum isn't 100% done yet. They'll probably tweak the cosmetics a bit as they go along.

Anyway, it's not surprising that you have such strong negative feelings toward the game. There seem to be three groups of people: people who hated the first game with a burning passion and love the second beyond measure, people who loved the first and second equally, and people who loved the first game so much that the second could never compare. They're just different games, and anything different is bad when you consider the first game flawless.
