Hi all dear fans,

Not very long ago I made a thread seduced by the concept arts here, that implied there was alot of gore in witcher, and I was expecting alot of gore, but so far I had no success.

Maybe I cut a hand or two but that was as far as I heard, a guy here told me that he was able to cut heads and legs as well, if so has it happened to you ? how ? with what weapon ? what skill path did you took ?

I JUST MUST KNOW (O_O)
I cut a leg off with a heavy attack in the prologue, seems to be pretty rare though
you can cut off heads. but it's not implemented. probably because it'd look silly.
so you dont have to be a swordsman to perform dismembering attacks ?

for some reason the only time I dismembered anything was in the prologue where it happened frequently...haven't had a single dismemberment for the rest of the game though...
I seem to always chop a leg, arm, or head off my enemies. I use strong attacks almost exclusively though. Seems to do it more on the 3rd strong strike(if the enemy dies with that strike).
I too am a fan of Ludicrous Gibs and have been very disapointed this year with the level of gore in my favorite RPGs.

Firstly, DA2; "Oh noes11oneone! You hit me with dagger!!!!!! *LEGOMANASPLODE*"

Finally, Witcher 2... which as you mentioned is somewhat lacking in the giblets.

What I want is something in between DA2 and TW2. I much prefer the style of TW2 over the random torso explosions of DA2... but I still want something a little more over the top.

I don't want realism or absurdity; occasional decapitations and dismemberment with blood fountains would be nice for example, but nothing more over the top than that.

maybe I can come up with a mod -- I'll see if there is anything that tirggers the frequency, we had something similar in JKA, it was gore fest back then, now i want more.

if I post it youll find it here: http://gamemodscore.org/downloads.php

I also very much love to go for something like this: http://gamemodscore.org/downloads.php?do=download&fileid=8
now that was an exquisite mod.
I wish there was more gore by default. There seems to be plenty of gore in the animated cinematics, but yeah...

You do get a lot of nice finishing moves in act 2 as your character get's a better critical chance one way or another. They are quite gory.

Yeah, Act 2 was the time when I started seeing a lot of finishing moves. I did a swordsman build. I found if I used combos of things like Aard and then a quick flurry of sword strikes, the game would go to a cinematic finishing move.
Ugh, I hate unnecessary gore. Like the heads rolling around in the original Witcher and DA:O. In the demo for Dragon Age II you actually get to slice people in half... which I think is stupid, but... that's just my opinion.

There are some finisher moves that are a little more gory than others. I remember one where Geralt comes at someone from behind and jabs his sword through the guy's neck . . . gruesome as hell, and not something I really want to see up-close with special animation. Nor do I want to see slo-mo animations of people's heads flying off, people being cut in half, limbs flying, blood spurting in glorious spirals... please... in an RPG I look for story, characters, writing, mood, a friendly interface, finally graphics (this game has all of that except the friendly interface)... Bloody battle details -- like hack & slash and FPS and PC's who seem to have the weird ability to fly momentarily when they attack someone -- is something that actually turns me off.

So... I guess if you like that kind of stuff then Dragon Age II might be your thing (I liked Origins... but I'm not buying #2).

Of course, everyone has their own taste... so a mod sounds fine to me... I'm just glad ProjektRed didn't stuff the game with too many gory spectacles. One or two I've seen are a little too much for my taste, but... otherwise it's just fine as it is.

To my mind, there is not enough blood. This is not me being a gore-fiend etc, just wanting more realism. It doesn't need limbs or heads flying around left right and center... just a bit more blood spray when an opponent is struck, and maybe visible wounds? Possibly pooling blood on the ground after an enemy is slain would be good too.

I feel that excessive dismemberment detracts from the immersion. When you whack someone (or something) with a sword you will get blood spatter. Depending on a number of other factors there is a slim chance you may also get a limb or even a head severed (although this is very rare, it's actually rather difficult to remove someone's head unless you use a chopping block)

On a couple of the finishing moves, blood will splatter across the screen.
There is something seriously wrong with you if you enjoy frequent, detailed dismemberment of virtual representations of people.
Especially escalated from the already frequent and detailed level of TW2.

Just saying...
