While I like Roche better than Iorvath, Having now finished the game with both, I enjoyed the game far more when I sided with Iorvath, the story seemed better, and explained things better imo. Also I love Dwarves, and siding with Iorvath let me hang out in the Dwarf city.
i liked his original design where he wears a helmet. now he looks like some weird hybrid between a nobleman and a merchant.

TheCheese33: Roche is neat, but I would say that every single one of LA Noire's partners is more interesting. LA Noire actually got me to care about each and every one of my partners, and enjoy each of their personal quirks.

I may be a little biased because I think LA Noire is a better game, but I am enjoying the time I'm spending with the game.

cloud8521: how about best for a game on the pc?
Then it's a tie between Roche and Wheatley.
Roche and Iorveth are both great characters. Far better than Siegfried and Yaevin.

Yaevin was a total dick and Siegfried was like Butters from South Park.

i was laughing when i got his virgin tear
I just got to Act II... and Roche mentions waterboarding...

I wonder if its a jab at "advanced interrogation techniques?"
....he mentioned it at the same time as keelhauling. so not sure it is waterboarding as we know it today.

do both :D you get to see two side of a story

Considering he approves of it and says it worked, I doubt it's the type of jab a liberal would hope for. ;p

GoodGuyA: He's also rather observant. From only meeting you once he can tell that you were not the type to murder the king
I'd hardly call that evidence of being observant. I think everyone knows he didn't kill the King. But, as Roche said, when a king dies, someone needs to hang. I mean, only an idiot really thinks the Witcher who saved the King's life is the Witcher who then killed him. :p

Wow, that's interesting. Different people can have very different reactions to the exact same stimuli.

I liked Yaevinn a lot and liked Siegfried pretty well (though I was unhappy about how much he seemed to close his eyes to the evil that his friends in the Order were doing). On the other hand, I don't really like Vernon Roche. I respect his competence and his loyalty, but I don't like what he's had to sacrifice to get those qualities -- like flexibility and compassion. I admire competence and loyalty, but I also admire flexibility and compassion. I guess that's why my favorite Witcher character is Zoltan, who seems to have all four qualities.

I found the character line-up in TW1 to be much more likeable than the ones in TW2.

Totally agree. Dwaves are awesome. "Lesbomancy" cracked me up. Not to mention the discussion about the tightness of a pig's ass.

I agree. It's like having Dirty Harry as your sidekick without him stealing the show - very well done CDP, well done!
Almost near the end of the game... Decided to help Roche save Anais...

This man is such a bro. And Geralt even gets an opportunity to call him a "friend" in front of the Redanian king. Plus, Roche tells Geralt that he will always respect him, even if Geralt decided to run off to save Triss.
