You can edit the file to, for example, make certain objects like the most common crafting ingredients (0.2/0.5/1 unit) to weight less or nothing at all while the heavy stuff like weapons and armor remains unchanged. That way hoarders like me can be happier.
I'm skeptical, this really a mod or a trojan hiding in it's horse?
It's an xml file, you're fine

The zip only has a readme text file and an XML file (which is just text encoding as well). So there's no virus in this.

Also, if you want something a little less dramatic that just reduces the weight of core crafting materials, you can try this mod instead: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/crafting_materials_weight_reduction_mod

From my experience on this site, I find it highly unlikely Delixe would link to a trojan/virus/malware. My 2 cents.
I'm really tempted to use this, I like my first playthroughs to be completely vanilla, however the ridiculousness of having 30 pounds of flowers and only 255 (don't know how I got the extra 5) allowed really chaps my baby smooth behind.

Must. Resist.Temptation.

I'm sure it's just the mediafire link that put's people off which is why I pasted it fully so people could see where I was linking to. I fully checked it it's just a short cut to editing anyone can do really.
Interesting-Mod-thingy-push.

Sticky pls! :)
in which folder do i have to drop the file exactly?
This mod is great, the weight management was pretty tedious. I'm enjoying the game a lot more without it.

No soup for you!! :p

How does that matter?
Thanks for this. If you don't let Aryan live, and are stuck with 250 capacity for most of the game...oh gods. *laugh* For all the talk about crafting components, it's only a few that have any real weight behind them.

But, for those of us trying to play the game the traps and bombs way...ugh. Traps and bombs take up way, way, way too much weight if you're making them in abundance, as a trapper/bomber oriented player would.

I'd say if CDPR approved this, they would have added a chest or bank in the game to store items.

While i suppose the weight vs. carry ratio in this game is very realistic [too realistic] , it becomes a major PITA if you can't store items that you don't know whether you can use them or not.

It is primarly the crafting ingredients that are throwing everything out of whack. You pick up a zillion drowner heads and never know if you might need that many in some recipe or to sell them...
Well you can easily edit this xml file in notepad. All it does is redefine all weights to 0. But each weight is listed and you can alter how much it actually weighs in game. For example:

<ability name="Weight_1">
<item_weight mult="false" always_random="false" min="0" max="0"/>
</ability>

If you think stuff that weighs normally 1 should weigh 0.1 instead of zero then change this to:

<ability name="Weight_1">
<item_weight mult="false" always_random="false" min="0.1" max="0.1"/>
</ability>

I personally changed the weights of 01 02 05 and 1 to 0.1 and all the others to their actual value. I mean these are stuff like weapons or armor which are supposed to be heavy and there's not much point in carrying 4 different steel swords anyway.

Edit: this board doesn't support [code] tag huh...
