Overall, fantastic game. Love the graphics, story, and have even grown to appreciate QTE events.

Having said that, I think the UI could use some tweaking. The "hot-spot" area for interacting with an actor in front of you is too small; there have been times when I've practically been in someone's face and I couldn't talk with them; instead I had to move a little to the side or step back.

I totally get why you don't want to make interact-able objects click-able by mouse. I don't agree with that, but I get it: You want to make someone move to where they have to in order to interact (as opposed to just standing at the entrance of a room and clicking at random). But in doing so, it is too restrictive
The real reason is because when you make a successful game for the PC market you have to make a sequel that ignores the players who made you successful in the first place and hedge your bets with a possible future console release. And everybody knows that consoles can't use cursors to interact with things in videogames.
I don't think it is a matter of the hotspots being too small, you are just unable to highlight things that are practically pressed against your face. This goes with doors and NPCs alike, or any other usable object. I never had a problem chatting so long as I didn't run directly into them.

After finishing the game last night, I must respectfully disagree. I do not feel ignored by any means as a PC player. The game played wonderfully with a mouse and keyboard, looked spectacular, and played just as well except for a few quirks, which I hope will be ironed out with patches. The only real compromise I see at the moment is certain parts of the UI regarding inventory and shopping, which could be much improved. A minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things though.

So you don't think that being able to highlight and click on a bit of loot and have Geralt move over to it (wherever it is) and being able to directly, intuitively and easily select a target with a cursor (both features from the first game) would be better than trying to get a non-existent crosshair to hover over an imaginary target box while you step around like a epileptic drunk while trying to get close enough BUT NOT TOO CLOSE to pick up the item? Why don't we have these things? One can only assume (given all the other console-centric changes) it's because cursors don't 'work' well on consoles.

I guess I just do not see the big difference. Sure, clicking items with a mouse pointer is nice, but not having that does not mean concessions were made for the PC either in that regard. Plenty of games use this method. I guess the original Deus Ex is also consolized? Pretty sure I remember running up to things there instead of clicking and moving to an object with a mouse. This method is nothing new. Different from the original? Sure.

My only guess is something is buggy with your game. Sure, I have run smack into people and had to back up to talk to them, but I am certainly not having to "step around like a epileptic drunk." As for getting too close, maybe (and hopefully) they will address this in future patches once bigger issues are ironed out for others.

In the original Deus Ex you had a crosshair, a visualised target box, and a menu/inventory system that more resembled the original Witcher with inventory slots that were only organisable by using a cursor and physically arranging items rather than scrolling through interminable lists.
