Now, lets wait another 6 months and see if TW 2 manage to hold the title.
"Best Xbox 360 Game – Crysis 2"

Aaaaaaand their opinion has just been rendered invalid.

But seriously, why are they using a picture that seems to be from Witcher 1?

Dying @ Geralt's face in that picture. Makes you wonder if they actually bothered to play the games they listed.

Also, Portal 2? I loved it, but it's hardly worth Game of the Year title. It's just a rehash of the first one.

That was my first question:)

Also, MvC3 is cool and I still play it from time to time, but how are you not going to pick Super Street Fighter IV:Arcade Edition which is the god of all fighting games and has just been released worldwide?

They need to stop giving Valve games attention/awards until they agree to finally release Half Life 2: Episode 3. People on here think that CDPR hasn't communicated well, but those people need to google the story of the elusive HL2:E3. The CDPR-building janitor is a veritable treasure trove of information compared to Valve when it comes to that game.

But rehash? Puh-lease, there's bouncy gel now! Totally different game!

... Incidentally, we need a sarcasm font.

The nergasm some people experience from crossover games can blind them to such truths :)

That's exactly why every Nintendo system until the end of time will have a Smash Bros game released on it.
That whole thing is just plain to weird to be taken seriously imo. Half a year award?

Ok I'll just go back to laughing now. =P
Best RPG – The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Runners up – Dragon Age II, Pokemon Black & White

...What?!
I love witcher, I worship it, but unfortunately Skyrim is a very very hard oponent to beat. Unless there will be a Witcher 2 Enhanced edition to fix those little small problems, specially inventory based, and then there might be a chance, but currently from what i saw skyrim is pretty though.

Skyrim already won the GOTY award for 2 reasons:

1) It has "Elder Scrolls" in title
2) It's Bethesda's game

Don't get me wrong - I worship TW series just like you do. But I'm realistic about the marketing+review hype that reigns in our little gaming realm. Sad but true :(
I like TW2 too, but that doesn't prevent me from realizing that Skyrim or any upcoming cRPG game can be better. Guys, don't be too biased - it is ridiculous and is doing more harm to Witcher community than simple trolling. The game deserves loyal fans, but not some blinded fanatical fanboys (the same with elitist PC Gamers, ehh).
Skyrim looks to be a juggernaut of a game, Beth has worked on it like 5 years. But in the end it will be a different type of game than The Witcher 2.

Sounds to me like the assumption is that Skyrim will run perfectly and will have absolutely no issues or bugs as the previous games from Bethesda did. Furthermore I wonder how would your comments play out if you have had 5 months of Skyrim to play followed by Witcher 2 afterwards :)

I'll like both games, play them side by side. I know Bethesda games have bugs, but their games have also been right up my alley. I'm also pretty sure Skyrim will have a better UI, in-game settings, and more polish overall. I love TW2, but the 'just be patient and we'll fix it' reputation CDPR has garnered ( and rightly so ) makes me leery of buying future titles from them anywhere near the release date.

I appreciate your point and certainly understand how certain type of games may be more attractive to some users than others. Coming from an old RPG school I think Witcher 2 is as good as it gets in terms of structure, though I do have Skyrim pre-ordered and I am sure I will enjoy it just as much...

I remember spending 120+ hours on Oblivion and Fallout 3 and in the end just finishing the story and giving up the exploration…
I suppose as someone who works full time and has a busy life schedule I appreciate a defined direction in the game.

While I have no doubt I will get lost in Skyrim world, I know that the NPC interaction and the complexities of the plot as well as the superbly woven story will not reach the level of what was presented in Witcher 2...
Really, I think the only RPG coming out this year that is in Witcher 2's league is Deus Ex: Human Revolution. But that doesn't mean mainstream outlets won't go gaga over the latest iteration of that one game Bethesada keeps making.
