Hey.

Are loot drops and random loot different depending on difficulty?

I've played TW2 beginning to the end around 4 times now, all on normal difficulty running the different paths, working on another play of it on hard difficulty ( I may up it to Dark since I'm finding things a bit too easy on hard so far, although just in Chapter 1 yet) and oddly I'm finding a lot more loot than I normally got on Normal mode.

I know it's random and possibly I'm just being lucky (Me lucky? ye right!) but thought I'd throw the question out there.

Also, how much more difficult is Dark compares to Hard? I remember my first few steps into the TW2 world and getting my ass handed to me in the prologue until I learnt that TW2 isn't just about standing still and waving my sword about like most games of this ilk, I actually have to dodge, parry, quen and avoid getting surrounded.

Another question I have, it's a little off topic since my subject talks about difficulty but are hybrid builds (putting points in all skill trees) viable? Mostly I just play swordsman with enough into magic to boost quen, I'm also tempted to try an alchemist build but looking at the skills, not totally convinced it would be good end game on a harder difficulty.

Any advice on builds from you experimental types would be appreciated. :)

Cheers.
I found alchemist specialisation to be far more interesting to play than a magic one. Slowing down time seemed a bit boring to me.

Alchemist ends up effectively removing all penalties from potions, meaning you can become extremely powerful. You end up always on some sort of potion, since all the bonuses only toggle then.

I still think the best build is Swordsmanship with a little alchemist, but Alchemist with a little swordsmanship is also good. I played all these builds on Dark mode btw.

Thanks for the reply.

I just gave up on my Hard difficulty game half way through chapter 1, to me it was just as easy as Normal except I'd take a little more damage.

Just started a Dark game, looks promising, literally just out of the prologue though so we'll see as time goes on.

It seems the harder your game, the better the random loot drops (From crates, chests and kills) I am finding an insane amount of stuff on Dark so far, I suppose I'm going to need it to craft the Dark armours.
I'm not entirely sure about the dark equipment, but yes it does feel like you get more loot on dark compared to hard.

Don't play insanity though. I've gotten 5-6 hours into a game once before dying when I clipped into a fire.
