Hi folks,

the witcher 2 finally downloaded the troll trouble dlc today and i was like: "YEEEEHAW!" However despite it being installed (there's a big green tick next to it) it's not present in the game. There is no notice on the board, the village elder tells me nothing and there is also no peasant near the bridge.
Anyone else has the same problem?

Greetz,
Egghead

Yeah, I too missed it. Although installed before started the game I couldn't find anything on the noticeboard or anywhere else.
Hmm - I see it out there AS DLC but it isn't available for me to download and it seems to want a preorder code that I cant find any record of having received. Anyone know when I should have received it?

I 'pre-ordered' Witcher 2 back when they announced the program and actually paid for it the day it became available to do so. You would think that I might have seen something by now.

*edit - I DID just activate the game though today. Work schedules were keeping me prior to vacation but NOW I'm ready to play :) One thing I have noticed is that I havent received any account activation email back after activating AND the ability to log in at the web site seems to be greyed out. Seems like I have some more digging to do.

Hmm, that's odd. If you have the green tick then it should be there.
It worked for me (there was a notice on the board in Flotsam).
Is there anything on the board in flotsam saying that you should visit gog.com? (I hear that's what it says if it hasn't downloaded/installed).

The troll dlc doesnt need a code. you should be able to click on it and and choose download

Odd - must be something else going on then. I do notice that the launcher seems to be having difficulty connecting. Its a delay of at least a minute before the downloadable content or Registered user links become undithered.

I had a similar problem - Troll Trouble was installed and got the green check mark, but on the noticeboard there was only a notice that the quest is available for registered users to download. When I took this notice, no quest was started.

I checked the The Witcher 2\CookedPC directory and found a troll.dlc file there; renaming it to troll.dzip fixed it for me.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

Thanks, I tried that but it didn't work. There is also no notice, the board is completely empty since I already took the other contracts. As far as I can remember, there was never a notice about the dlc on the board. Maybe it has sth to do with me owning the gog version?

do you have an earlier save laying around, when you arived into town? maybe try if it works before you removed all the notices
or better yet, just before loading up the town for the first time

Sorry to hear it didn't help; I also have the GOG version, so that's probably not the reason.

Just thought of that as well - but thought that even if the DLC would be unable to add the notice, the peasant at least should be present. But there's certainly no harm in trying :)

Nah, it should work for all versions. I have GOG version and it worked me for.

Hope the issue gets sorted for you soon.
Should you be willing to go into a somewhat grey area it's very easy to pick up a working torrent of this and some pre-order DLC while you wait for them to fix their servers or whatever.
Looks like at least my troubles are being caused by them having the servers offline preparing for the 1.1 patch - should have hit the witcher site first :)

Sadly all my saves are post arriving in Flotsam and taking the contracts. I'm still hoping that patch 1.1 may help. *sigh*

After you download it, you have to install it; just downloading does nothing.

Restart the game, open the download window, click on Troll Trouble, and you should get an option to install the content.
