I found the troll head in Sendler's house and asked him about it. He said we could dice for it. I have beat him 5 times and still he does not give me the opportunity to take the head. I think it is because I already did the poker quest and chose a bomb as my prize prior to starting the troll quest. Is this a bug or does anyone have any other solution?

I'm not sure if it's "technically" a bug, but since you already chose a reward from him, he has no intention of giving you another.

Fortunately, all it does is cost you a minor reward, you still can finish the quest.

Unfortunately it also prevents you from being able to complete the meliteli's heart quest if you want to let the big guy under the bridge live. I think it should be patched.

So there is no way to resolve this? No insert codes (cheating) or whatever?
And killing the troll would be against codex...

Ah well, guess I will have to sell the amulet then. Too bad.

HUH, thats not a bug, thats called consequences of your decisions. Not all quests should eb completed if you make certain choices.

But if you were not given the choice at all?
In my game, Geralt played poker with the tanner when he already knew he needs a troll tongue to fix the heart. He had not talked to the troll before, but still...

So in my opinion, I should have had the option to ask at least for the tongue.

I'm in the same boat. I played poker with the guy a long time ago and chose my reward. All before knowing anything about this troll stuff. I decided to let the troll live and now Sendler wont play dice with me for the she-troll head even though he said we could. Now I'm stuck on the Meletele's heart quest. Oh well...

I've made a small mod to work around the problem, it's fairly basic but it basically just adds the Trolls Stuffed Head and the Troll Tongue to his shop inventory for sale.
The default price in the game for the tongue is 436 orens I think. I can make a second mod to lower it's price perhaps.
I've tried it out and you can give the stuffed head to the male troll and collect a reward no problem.

Extract the zip file to: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher 2\CookedPC\items
You will need to create the "items" folder inside "CookedPC" first.

What you need to be aware of:
1. It won't remove the troll head from the wall of his hut after you purchase the head.
2. These items will appear for sale before any quests begin which I can't do anything about.
3. Items usually respawn in stores after 1 day of game time. I've tried to set these to a month instead to prevent them reappearing for the duration of Act 1.
4. I don't know if this will fix all your issues for the amulet and the troll trouble quests. It's a quick mod and not thoroughly tested as of yet.

Thanks for this... I was sad to learn than the charm quest was not able to be completed if you did the troll quest a certain way. This changes that, and for that I am happy.

you should make a mod that adds newboys amulet this way as well since its kind of misleading and the game guide is wrong and doesn't tell you that you have to kill newboy after the dungeon to get it, so a lot of people missed out on it.

You don't have to kill him. The amulet can be the very first item you ever 'loot' in the game. As soon as you get out of bed with Triss in the prologue, walk outside the tent to the right and talk to Newboy who's standing with a couple of muscle heads. With the right dialog options the amulet is yours.

And I don't think anything needs to be patched, everything you need to know is there for this quest, if you arn't paying attention then you loose! :)

Hmm, well I'm glad it worked out for you. Bear in mind, I did get the amulet from Newboy at the beginning of the game. Yet, for some reason when I selected the Troll Contract from the notice job board, the quest simply did not appear in my journal. Due to that, I cannot complete the Melitele's Heart quest either.

Yes a patch is required. I'm sure the order in which we complete OR obtain quests seems to affect whether or not some quests will be bugged.

Our problem is, we already played him in poker before ever knowing about the troll tongue. it should let us play him in poker again.
