I play for fun. bugs interfere. Simple as that.
Finished the game in Patch 1.3 twice. No game-breaking bug(s). Mods and self-modified scripts were used to casually cheat and overcome minor bug (such as the UI disappearance in dice games).

And yes, I play for fun. If I find any bug, I try to overcome it myself by tinkering before posting rants. At most, I post technical questions regarding the efforts.

All else fail? Reinstall the game from scratch, bearing in mind that sometimes, old save games are not compatible with new patch. And I know my Windows like the back of my hand, so no OS re-installation necessary.

ThE_MarD: My only real left grife right now? the targeting system... I'll be looking and fighting a guy and all of a sudden it targets a guy at the back of the pack and Geralt tries to do some running attack to get to him but can't cause I'm still fighting the guy in front of me and then I'll lose a lot of health. Once they make a good targeting system that aims for targets I'm facing and closest instead of whatever it is now? I'm sure I'd get a lot less frustrated doing multiple enemy battles.

No I'm not purposely trying to find bugs, I'm playing the game and just trying to deal with some of the problems cause right now it's more of a "game I have to finish" instead of a "game I want to finish" kind of deal... I spent money on this game and I am trying to just get my money's worth in game time.
That annoyed me too with the targeting system. Even though you can press "alt" to lock onto a target (doesn't feel right to me with M&KB), I modded a crosshair into my HUD mod that made that more tolerable to me, since it made it feel less random when jumping into a group of enemies to get backstabbed to death. I don't know what system the game uses exactly to target an enemy, but when updating the lock-on, the centre of the screen plus the direction Geralt is facing seems to be pretty accurate.

Also, getting a decent framerate helps there *a lot*, or else your targeting always feels too off and that will happen all the more frequently.

[Almost] everything you need is there in "pack0.dzip" file. Find the helps and guidance needed in ModDB forums.

God, I'm so desperately want to get my hands of RED Engine toolset (the one I saw in the video).
Heyyo,

I dunno at this point if I'll finish Witcher 2.. I'm probably more likely to finish Dragon Age 2 even though I didn't like that one nearly as much as the first game...

Actually? For framerates the RED engine is done so damn good so kudos to the map designers, music, sounds and coders on that. The visuals are really well done and the framerates stay high even though I crank that Anti Aliasing so definitely no complaints there. I pray that Battlefield 3 on the Frostbite engine 3 runs this good tbh... I guess I'll find out in a few days lol. :P

10 years ago I was tearing my hair out at bugs in BioWare games on BioWare forums, they never been fixed in their games and they still repeat them in their new products...
CDPR gave us Witcher EE and is now giving us Witcher 2.2.0, they are actually doing something about complains and not releasing crap called DA2 and then bullshitting the community with "this is actually the game you want... if you do not like it then it is the problem with you and not with our work..."

So what is your complain here exactly? You do not like the targeting system so this automatically makes DA2 a better game? Does it have anything to do with you living in Canada?

Heyyo,

Lol, no it has nothing to do with me living in Canada even though BioWare is a five hour drive from where I live... it has more to do with the gameplay working. I don't have targeting problems in DA2, it doesn't frustrate me either.. well, maybe just how it doesn't seem to pack the same punch as DA1 did but still the game's gameplay mechanic is not broken is the main point... and no I never did finish DA2 either, I moved onto other games like Deus Ex Human Revolution which imo turned out great. I loved Dx1, enjoyed despite bad reviews Dx2 yes I loved DXHR.

BioWare make a lot of great games so they are a company I tend to pre-order without hesitation but I'm sure after the mediocre reception of DA2, a future DA3 will be a more refined experience of DA1.... but I'd rather see a Jade Empire 2 right now cause I started replaying the first one and goddamn.. I forgot how epic that game is! :D

Jade Empire is the only Bioware game that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

WoodCrafter: Perhaps you should consider the point of the OP, captain oblivious.

Most people do not have game breaking problems before or after any patch which proves the OP's point. Some users...geez.

Hamon: I didn't have problems before Patch 1.3. I haven't changed anything since then. My installation is more dappered than a queens loo. It seems there is something false with the gamepad mechanics. So down button, something is messed up with the patch. Btw copy/paste variants of posts are kinda unoriginal.
You should also consider that's YOUR experience and that doesn't mean it's the general rule. At least try asking if someone else has the same problem.

Jade Empire is absolutely stuffed to the brim with all of the Bioware cliches, but it pulls them off so well that NOBODY CARES. Simply put, it's a great game. I would be very interested in a JE2 if I could be assured that it would be faithful to the original.
