Treasa: Besides Polish, which other languages have all the books been translated into?
avatar
QuinQuin: In French, Czech and Spanish for sure. I'd suspect at least partially in Italian (saw one in an italian bookshop last year), and Russian.

That's all I know.
Only the two short stories collections were translated in italian, The Last Wish and The Sword Of Destiny, the latter was released last month. Hopefully more books will be released in italian soon, I'd hate to have to wait ten years to be able to read the whole saga. All this delay with the english translation is a real shame. The Sword Of Destiny is essential to better understand the Blood Of Elves trilogy.

BiggusD1: How difficult for fans of Sapkovsky to organize a forum and made translation themselves?
Its common thing in Russia
Me and another poster have already translated two chapters and posted it on the official forum but lately she was too busy to continue and it was too difficult for me to do this all by myself. If anyone's willing to help, I could repost somewhewre the bits I've already translated and split the next chapter which whoever wants to help.
All books are beeing translated into Swedish, with the second book beeing released about a week ago. The publisher seems to go with one book every year.

The whole series has also been published in German.
The last book was released March 2011.

The WHOLE series, you sure? I thought only Sword of Destiny was translated to German (additionally to the also in English published ones, The Last Wish and Blood of Elves). I just got myself the audiobook of SoD. Only Problem, I don't like German (the mutilation of the names alone curl my toes). :(
So I'm all for a fan translation into English!
I also like Spanish, but I doubt I can learn it from a book.

Thanks for the link. And even purchaseable as ebook! Since I preferably read digitally, this is really tempting... if it only were in English... ;)

Like it's been said above (how the hell did I miss it?) they are available in German. In fact I've read all 7 books in German... with some help from Google translate. ;)

Times of contempt, chapter 1 http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/times_of_contempt_translate/post1
I think we should copy and paste translate to all forums about Witcher or fantasy :) BTW: Times of contempt is my second favorite book about Witcher.
