cbarbagallo: Everyone who is having trouble should wait for the OFFICIAL release, not some crappy leaked beta.
Crappy leaked beta? The links came right off the Witcher support website. They posted the links but then removed them. Later all the links were working and the patches where there, they just didn't repost the links.

So it's not really "unofficial" OR "leaked".. Also it has OFFICIALLY been stated the patch is DONE, just that there are server issues..which also gives validity to those patches.
CDPR posts:
The good news is that the patch is ready. The bad news is that we have encountered some problems with the server infrastructure, making downloading DLCs impossible. We want to apologize to our fans for not meeting our target of delivering the patch last night. We will update you when we know more.

And then Vladimir posts:
IN SOVIET RUSSIA THE CODE ACTIVATES YOU (but he is spamming it now!)

I couldn't help but ROFLMAO!
If they were "good to go" why were they pulled?

cbarbagallo: If they were "good to go" why were they pulled?
Because there was a problem with the DLC. They said they'd promised the DLC as well, so pulled the patch until they could work out that particular issue.
Could be. I will wait unitl it is out for real. Who knows? They might take the extra time to fix something else.

Yes, 570gtx is same or a little faster as 480gtx, with lower temps + power consumption.
Also, your screen resolution is almost like 1080p

1600x1200 = 1920000
1920x1080 = 2073600

@mippoh
Yes, but why was it pulled?

H4wkeye: GTX 570 is faster than GTX 480. It's basically GTX 580 with a bit less shaders, cuda cores etc.
Just to be clear, the 570 and the 480 are about equal, sometimes the 570 is faster and sometimes the 480 is faster.

This is because the 570 has an extra 32mhz on the core and 100mhz on the memory whereas the 480 has more memory and higher bandwidth, also of note is that due to VRM issues generally speaking a 480 has a better chance at a higher overclock.

Due to the above, depending on res/settings etc either has a chance of being faster BUT more often than not on the same drivers they are equal.

For overclocking though i'd much rather have a 480.

Well... I downloaded and installed the GoG patch, which was linked in post #724, which was supposedly from the official site. Not that I did find it there, they only say that the patch is ready, but still problems with server infrastucture.

This patch made the left analog stick non functional for menus - not that the functionality was good before. And that reminds me that I should have tested, if they made the control quick switch key work or not, damn. I reinstalled the game, so too late now. I'll better wait for a really official announcement now. ;)

I'm sure there was more to it than that. I had the misfortune to download the patch before it got pulled and it immediately broke my ability to use the 360 controller in menus (and yes, the option was checked, and I've tried turning it on/off/messing around with the settings, to no avail. Still works in game, but navigating menus with both thumbsticks doesn't). Based on this alone they might have pulled it, though when I sent this info to CD Projekt I got a denial e-mail in return, saying I must not have had the option checked. In my opinion there was probably something else it screwed up (since they wouldn't acknowledge this).
I must have a really boring life to be checking this thread every 20 minutes. I mean, I can play the game without the patch ... but I just keep dreaming the patch will make the game run butter smooth. It has been awhile since a game has made me so obsessed.

I'm waiting patiently too. Course I am at work, I have no choice. Haha. Hopefully when they "OFFICIALLY" release it..it will actually install instead of saying invalid version or whatever :(

Haha, same here. Game works actually fine even on my not-so-great config but I'm still waiting for the patch. Part of it is being worried the patch screws some things up, but still :)

JoxerTM: Ppl please do not use whatever is on the guru3d.
We'll have another thing for our GOG version. Copied from the support from thewitcher site:

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings ReadMe file
Update - May 25, 2011

This patch is designed for all game editions except for those available via GOG.com and Steam. A version for the Steam edition is available via the Steam client (work in progress as of May 25), while a version for the GOG.com edition is available for manual download at http://wpc.420c.edgecastcdn.net/00420C/files/P1_1/Patcher_GOG.exe... and on The Witcher 2 product page at www.gog.com (work in progress as of May 25).
Both files are the exact same with 14,5 MB (15.207.935 bytes) each. Why do you suggested that they are not is... strange.

I'm using neither anyway. Better safe than sorry and I'll get the official release when it's done. I have no problems whatsoever with my GoG edition anyway.

When you reinstalled the game did that fix the control issue? (I'm having the same problem, though I downloaded it from thewitcher.com before it disappeared) If so, did you do a complete uninstall? And what about any DLC? I ask because, apart from Troll Trouble, I also have the Mysterious Merchant DLC and don't want that to get screwed up if I uninstall and the servers are down.

Also, to anyone that can answer, how exactly does the DLC download/activation work if you uninstall/reinstall? Do you have to input your DLC code again upon installation? Or is it saved to your Serial Key or something?

That was me. And I'm having a blonde day. I installed to default path, but I have a specific games folder, so I am installing again right now. Of course I didn't think of DLC... since I have done the Troll quest, I imagine the game wants to have that. I will report back after the install.
I installed the GOG patch and it worked perfectly, thanks for that.
