they said a couple times "patch is in a few hours, stay tuned" but it's really no matter. They can take all their time to create something without problems. No one wants a patch that creates new problems eh? Leave the guys alone, they're already doing great.
I've been lucky enough to play the game without any issues or crashes (I'm currently 30 hours in on Chapter 2) so I'm not so desperate for the first patch, although the promised performance improvements, if there any for me, will be welcome.

However, I would like fullscreen 1920x1200 resolution support (I'm quite frankly amazed the game didn't ship with full support for 16:10 resolutions to be honest) and the minor door bug to be fixed so I'm looking forward more to the second patch which CD Projekt have said will come next week.

Utterly superb game which can only improve with each patch.

Roadking: Same thing happened to me however all it did was reset my settings. I had to go into ingame options and turn my pad on again and reset my video settings and all was fine,

Aspenwood: I've tried all that, and it's had no effect.
Yup, same here. Of course I don't really care about that specifically as I don't plan to use the 360 controller, but I still have the worry of having installed an apparently defunct patch.

I'll just keep my fingers crossed that the real patch (whenever it's released) will install over the "bad" one without complaint. I'm way too lazy to uninstall / reinstall if I donnae hafta. :)
*sigh* Stop fighting.. it won't help anyone.

Yes, creating expectations was an error from CDPR side, and perhaps trying to fix too many bugs in single patch in too short timetable was another. First quickly fixing more critical launcher/DLC problems and then concentrating less urgent bugs with better time would have been better idea. But whining about it will not help, infact putting more pressure to developers can have negative effects since hacking up fixes in hurry easily creates new bugs. Let them do their work in peace without pressure and give them time to test it all properly. I'm software developer myself so I known stuff like these aren't easy to do when you really need something you don't have, time...
Goodmornin everyone (we'll at least to all everybody in EU timezone).

Just woke up and it's time to download that sweet patch and go play some witcher 2.

Wait.. what? Patch's not up yet? ... Noooo

Same here on the 16:10 support..I've had this monitor for several years..wasn't aware that 16:10 is now not the standard..

Seems like it would be easily added in the game...at least it will be patched later..course by then will have finished with the game most likely.

BrundleFLY: Is that what they have done...pulled the patch...oh that's right no one knows as there is very little communication other than "nearly there" and "shortly".

I want a stable release as would I believe everyone waiting for the patch but they seem to be dangling a carrot in front of everyone making it seem that it is a mnor hickup that is delaying it's release.
Well, their only mistake was to get people's hopes up with a solid release time slot. Otherwise, the minor hiccup could be anything ranging from game crashing more to a script from a former employee that wipes out your harddisk. There's no telling what's going to happen until you compile and test the game, and even then, considering that the message of them compiling it came out at 2 AM. Ignoring the late hour and the overtime, the testing team wouldn't have had much chance to test the build properly, and now that they have, there's some issue, so, it's pulled.

Simplest thing to do, if you absolutely must play with the patch only, would be to play something else in the meantime. Witcher 2 is a great game, but it shouldn't become an obsession, or keep you up at night waiting for a patch - that's a bit unhealthy.
A Twitter update...

They really need to communicate a little better, that would work wonders for the community I think.

I just got my first bits of particles in game, thanks to the Hotfix for AMD.

So, no performance increase, and particles and anomalies...fun times :)

Getting late..gotta head to bed..guess I will get 1.1 tomorrow. Might have to uninstall this AMD hotfix...

I'm just really bummed, it is difficult to play without being able to rebind my keys or to have inverted mouse look, and there's still no sign of the patch. Hopefully the patch will be available soon.

I find it funny that they are still working on the patch when 4 hours ago they actually posted links on their web page...some people actually downloaded the international version of the patch.

As I previously stated they need a community manager someone who is in contact with the devs to keep the community up to date.

It isn't good that as soon as they released the game, the official Witcher 2 site/forums was taken offline and is stil down after a week, I know they are a small company but that should not have happened.

Seriously guys, calm down. How about you go to play other good games while waiting the patch or spend time outside. Trust me, time goes alot faster than complaining how bad ppl witcher dev team are because they dont keep promises and bla bla. They never promised anything. Just working their ass off for all these complaining monkeys.

edit: bloody hell with ipad´s auto-fill which messed up my text again xD
