You see, the funk is a living creature. It's about the size of a medicine ball, but covered in teats. Came from another planet. Landed on Bootsy Collins' house. Back then Bootsy was just a simple farmer, but he took one look at all those moldy titties and lost his mind. He began to milk the funk. Made himself a funk shake. He began to feel fizzy inside. He found he could see around corners. Suddenly, he passed out. But when he came to, baby, he was slappin' a bass guitar fast and loose like some sort of delirious funky priest. Two months later, he was world famous with his band Parliament, and everybody wanted a piece of the funk. Rick Wakeman, even the Bee Gees. One day, Parliament were traveling on the mothership, foolin' around with the funk, when George Clinton, kicked the funk clean overboard. And that was July the 2nd, 1979, "the day the funk died"... Two weeks later, I found the funk, in bed with a conga eel. At first I thought it was a sea anenome, but under closer inspection I realized it was a funky ball of tits from outer space. I offered to take him back to Parliament, but he said he was done with dat shit, and that they never listened to him anyway, and were only interested in his funky bra juice.
I warned you!

jlibster: We at the GOG forum would like to salute those few brave souls (aka Guinea Pigs) who on behalf of the gaming community are prepared to make the ultmate sacrifice of their mostly working Witcher 2 to help ensure that the rest of us have a smooth gaming experience by wanting to be the first to try the patch before Friday. We salute you....
VirtualPal: Where did you get this Friday idea into your head? I hope it was other than the obvious trolls posting that earlier on the news page of the official site... Post edited May 26, 2011 by jlibster

karooble: I'm also getting kind of fed up with all of these "We'll release it SOON!!" followed by more than a 24-hour wait statements by CDPR. While my version of the game is largely un-bugged, I can't finish Chapter 1 until after they fix the launcher so I can get the Troll Trouble DLC. What the gently caress is up?
revial: I just think some people straining at the bit to get the DLC working don't realize just how...small it is. :p revial

karooble: Well, they said 90 minutes for the Troll Trouble quest. Not so? Add that to my pile of disappointments. :\ The DLC download is a 7 MB file. You may want to lower your expectations. ;)

Snarfinator: I can't be responsible for what happens if I don't get the patch in the next few minutes!!!!
wormholewizards: If this patch still doesn't solve your issue, i don't know what will happen to you.. karooble: Well, they said 90 minutes for the Troll Trouble quest. Not so? Add that to my pile of disappointments. :\
revial: There is one step to the quest that could take you no time at all, or leave you completely stumped, so technically, yes. I could see some people taking 90 minutes. :p The DLC download is a 7 MB file. You may want to lower your expectations. ;)

jlibster: ah yes, another brave soul (virtual salute)...someone's already reported his/her "premature" (to paraphrase his words) obtaining of the patch and applying it. This was the version for International Retail edition. It not only didn't fix any issues, but broke something that was working. .
.
My kingdom for a sarcasm font.

It's free. It's additional content. Complaining about free stuff is downright silly. ;)

Now eventually this fabled 1.1 patch will appear...
Though the international one being only 16mb does not instil any confidence in me, I was hoping for something a little more substantial.

revial: They'd have to enable the tags first, me thinks.
I've learned that nothing is free. Just that someone else pay when they say it is. There were only 2 general negative comments in the reviews I felt may be legitimate (haven't played yet): (The complaint about learning curve I consider subjective): The abrupt ending, and the world being smaller than Witcher 1. figure the DLC was a way to sort of bring it back up when things were more relaxed. So did many.jlibster: 7 MB, is that a sick joke? That's barely a character and kiddie script. In this case DLC appears to stand for Darn Little Content

The only complaint I really have is that the meditation/alchemy/inventory interfaces are pretty clumsy, especially compared to TW1's. It's like they gave up flexibility and ease-of-use for kb+m users in favor of implementing controller use, and it feels really frustrating in a game that's supposed to be OMG WE LOVE THE PC, PC FIRST 4EVA!! if you know what I mean.
