zerolink: Thanks man. It's frustrating, I'm waiting for the patch to come out, if it doesn't increase my framerate I'm gonna have to postpone getting a near car and just install a new engine on my current car so I can build my dream PC.
It will.

Jamanticus: No, there's no going back to Flotsam after you leave at the end of Chapter 1.
avatar
Telic: Ah well, let's see if the patch comes out tomorrow - in which case, I've only just finished chapter 1 so I don't mind replaying 10 minutes again...

If the patch takes longer than that, then I'll just plough on with the game, and the devs can kiss farewell to another customer's good-will.

I'm now through with pre-paying for the right to test people's software for them ;)

In fact I'm really starting to think practicing a little patience and waiting to play new releases for a few months will save a lot of hassle; not to mention saving money when this is half price on Steam one weekend in the not too distant future ;p
You can always do Troll Trouble on your next play-through of the game. The game has several different endings and different gaming areas for Ch. 2 and 3 based on your choices. But I understand your point about glitchy releases.

A new save file is created each time the game saves. There is no overwriting - therefore, s/he can go back 10 minutes easily. Don't be a jerk.

Thanks. I'll let you in on a little secret too: I was supposed to write a review for this game on a little known indie gaming site, but I had to cancel/postpone it because playing it at 20 fps will not do the game justice. All these reviews are getting me pumped. Also, you guys are great. Best community I've seen so far. Thanks. :)

revial: That's one heck of a pc if you're associating the costs to building it to buying a new car. :/
lmao, I've got 3.5-4 grand to drop on a new car, my current car's body is good, but the engine is dying and I want it to be manual instead of automatic. Getting a new car will cost about 3 grand. The PC I want will be aabout 1.5 grand and should last me a good 5-8 years (6 core cpu with crossfired HD 6950s and 8 gigs of ddr5 ram)

Oh, and what you said made my day/night XD

I reviewed the game and originally decided to postpone my review but changed my mind. At least for me it's not as bad most times as it is in the opening, and becomes playable after you slog through the first bit.

The community here is pretty great though the TW2 forums being down has brought in a lot of...interesting guests.

Oh, so the opening is the most demanding part? Cuz I never got past the opening so I tested my frame rate on just the opening chapter XD. Lol, even with the other guests here, this forum is still good lol, I'm one of The Others (song of fire and ice reference ftw!) here lmao as I bought retail XD
Where's the patch? :-P

Yeah, exactly what I did, and I was like "no way I'm reviewing it in this state.." But it does get better. My fps around that point was 20-30 and very choppy..later it's usually 25-45 and either less choppy or hardly at all. It's certainly not where it should be but it was doable enough I could beat the entire game. Note I turned off SSAO, Motion Blur, Blur Effects, Uber Sampling, V Sync, Cinematic Depth of Field, and Dangling Objects Limit...everything else was enabled/maxed -- this helped.

You're quite welcome to stay. Great catalogue and folks here.

When I asked on the Witcher 2 website whether the patch will be coming in hours or days, the guy in charge of the site/servers said "expect days".

LOL, Kyozo isnt in charge of the site, how did that come to your mind?
Some of the comments, something like that. Maybe I'm just tired, and I misinterpreted.

But let's be fair, there hasn't been a reply from Marcin in a while, either. Thread was buried under mountains of other threads.

Heh, if this were in the Witcher's world, I'd be executed for thread Necromancy.
lol early this week=wednesday
