Is the patch out? AMd drivers suck, getting a GTX 570, like the AMD cards, but their drivers are atrocious.

soldiergeralt: any patch worth a damn will defunct your save games. but i expect this is just a tiny hotfix for control issues.
You call "over 10.000 bugs fixed" a tiny hotfix??? :-0

Anyway, there are games that need to be restarted after a major patch and there are games that don't. I would hope that the Red's programmed their RED in a way that patches don't require a new game - what with their exprience with their first game. It's not like mods need a new game and mods are basically fixes. Albeit not very deep into the heart of the game as of now. But they announced to release the SDK, so the game is meant to be kinda nice to modding. Without the need to start over all the time.

withateethuh: No patch for any game should ever make older saves not work.
Ah. The classic days of gaming where there were core functions changed and saves became invalidated. Funny story time, FO/FO2 probably two of the most acclaimed CRPG's outside of PS:T and the goldbox stuff, had patches that broke saves. It happens, but it's not all that common. Usually for a save to break, something fundamentally huge has to change inside the engine and the scripts itself.

Anyway, no patch notes. The updater servers are up but offline I guess.

NewYears1978: Anyone have a link to the patch notes? I am at work right now, just curious if it improves performance of the game any or if it's just other fixes.

Still waiting for stupid ATI driver updates :(
No patch notes yet .. as the patch hasn't been released yet and probably won't be today ie 11:00pm now in Poland - 2pm in California.

So maybe tomorrow or Wednesday ??

FO/FO2 fixes applied to the game if you had not entered an area which needed fixing.
If you had not entered New Reno, the New Reno fixes would apply.

True but don't forget that some ingenious fellow on the old BiS boards, figured out how to hexedit the saves to make them work. It was a pain, then again I don't know many people these days that can figure out how to use a hex editor either.

I'm feeling old now.
They'd work, but AFAIK the map would completely reload and it would break quests.

Ah, thanks, I misunderstood, thought it just came out.
Mmm, as someone who is the victim of un-downloadable downloadable content - does anyone know if you get a chance to re-visit chapter 1 areas later on in the game ?

I'm asking because I'd like to play the Troll Trouble DLC, and not having seen it, I'm assuming itt is Chapter 1 content based in Flotsam. So if I've finished chapter 1, and then eventually get Patched access to the DLC, will I have to go back to a chapter 1 save game to access the quest ?
(Assuming chapter 1 save games still work after the patch?)

There's lots to like in this game, but I have some real dis-likes too, and making DLC free but inaccessible is one tease too far :P

No, there's no going back to Flotsam after you leave at the end of Chapter 1.
Damn i was hoping for hotfix for 7.1 audio and various other sound issues.

Gues ill wait another week. :(((

Ah well, let's see if the patch comes out tomorrow - in which case, I've only just finished chapter 1 so I don't mind replaying 10 minutes again...

If the patch takes longer than that, then I'll just plough on with the game, and the devs can kiss farewell to another customer's good-will.

I'm now through with pre-paying for the right to test people's software for them ;)

In fact I'm really starting to think practicing a little patience and waiting to play new releases for a few months will save a lot of hassle; not to mention saving money when this is half price on Steam one weekend in the not too distant future ;p

einarabelc5: I wasn't a fan of AA until I got a card that could do it.
avatar
zerolink: My card can do AA pretty well... it's just that I actually like the jaggies lol. My old PC couldnt handle much AA so I ended up getting used to the jaggies and actually liking them XD
avatar
MysterD: Exactly.
Many have trouble running Metro 2033 full-blown.
That's why Metro - and other system-choking gorgeous-looking games - are a good pick for benchmarking.
avatar
zerolink: Lmao you're right XD, either way, I can still run Metro 2033 on high-ISH settings, if I turn tesselation off and crap then I run it pretty good on high lol. On a side note, Metro 2033 is an amazing book.... just like Sword of Destiny lol, I'm reading the spanish translation
Well, AA is not done only on polygons anymore. It's done on textures as well. Anyways, that's weird but as long as you enjoy.

Thanks man. It's frustrating, I'm waiting for the patch to come out, if it doesn't increase my framerate I'm gonna have to postpone getting a near car and just install a new engine on my current car so I can build my dream PC.
That's one heck of a pc if you're associating the costs to building it to buying a new car. :/
