Oscopter: No mention of 1.1 there. :-(

Namur: In that case your game isn't patched

Try rebooting your pc and then running the patcher again.

About the rebinding thing, in 1.1 rebinding was expanded to allow mapping of cursor and numpad keys, but rebinding was there from the start.
Alright, I'll try that. If that however fails I've already downloaded the game from gog again, so I can try a clean reinstall.
Sometimes a clean install is best, if too experiments are attempted......
So I've reinstalled, and re-patched, but the Troll DLC is still giving me the "Error writing file". Any help?
Troll DLC is included in the patch....

There is a bug with Launcher. Check your CookedPC folder and see if the dlc is already installed.
so when's the next patch out?
So last night when I restarted the game on a fresh install with patch..I didn't really notice any of that stuttering..

No performance increase either..but game seemed to run fine, error free. Didn't get to test too much, wife wanted me to go to bed. Will test more this weekend.

At least all the DLC/pre-order items were given for free..that's some consolation

ARustyFirePlace: so when's the next patch out?
Next week.

I hope they fix the key bindings so you can the NumPad which 1.1 was meant to. I don't know what went wrong but it's strange they fixed the arrow keys but left out the NumPad.

Would be cool to use one's extra mouse buttons too.
I posted earlier about me being unable to patch the game, so I'll bring this up again: I'm getting a 'Critical Error - Cannot open launcher process.' when trying to run Patcher_GOG.

I did a completely clean install wiping everything related to The Witcher 2 from my harddrive. I'm getting a bit lost here right now, since the release went extremely smooth for me.

EDIT: Resolved the issue! Did some quick googling and found out people were having problems with MS security essentials; however since I do not possess such software I resorted to using the oldest trick in the book: Compatibility mode. Running the Patcher_GOG in the recommended compatibility mode (XP SP2) patched the game succesfully!

Simplex: I hope someone at CDP will actually test the next patch, for a change.
In all fairless, they actually mentioned couple hundred posts back that they had many versions to test without controllers. It is possible they didn't test it with controllers but they did some testing. Just perhaps not enough to catch everything on every system permutation. I woud like everything to be fxed in patch round one, but when is the last time that ever happened? You want a product that really wasn't tested well, try WindowsME, followed closely by Windows Vista (aka windows 7 with patches) and fixes were nowhere near this fast. (if at all).

This must have been said, but I won't read 65 pages of posts... Is it true that with the new patch, it's impossible to use the joystick to select a spell and that you have to do it with the D-pad ?

Why ? Just why ?

True. Don't know why.
Is anyone still having unresponsive control issues with the 1.1 patch ?
