Ok, glad I'm not the only one with this 'stuttering' or jerky movement problem. I have a retail version and after installing patch 1.1, although the frames per second is larger [i.e. 35-45+] in Flotsam forest, every 3rd or 4th step Geralt takes looks like a slow motion stutter, over and over = jerky movement. It's actually quite hard on my eyes. V-sync doesn't seem to help either.
I also tried out another game to see if it was an ATI driver problem. Apparently not, as movement was smooth as a babies bottom.

Ati is apparently releasing yet another profile or hotfix sometime today, or so the story goes. Although I'm sure it's not crossfire issue, since version 1.0 of Witcher 2 didn't have this stuttering, for me.

I hope someone at CDP will actually test the next patch, for a change.

Glad I'm not the only one with this exact same problem v.1.1 gave me the stuttering while I didn't have any in v. 1.0

I went to The witcher.com site and read what they said to do for patching..BUT I'm not going to do it, till after all the commotion calms down. I have the GOG version it said to go to the GOG site(scroll down on your little bookshelf game box) and save to disk so you can figure out later whether its a good patch or not!!

And what is the sense of that? I love the GoG Version because it is totally DRM-Free. So why should I use Steam as Prison for my Game? By the way, if you just want the Steam Overlay, you can add every Game on your HDD to Steam and into its Game Library.

I have been lurking in this forum for a while, since the proper Witcher forum is still down. Apologies in advanced for the long post...

My retail version arrived (from the UK) this past Tuesday and then installed it. Went through the activation process/patch, registration, downloaded and installed the Troll and purchase bonus DLC without any problems. I ran the video setting function and it returned a Low PC setting that I thought odd My PC specs:

Dual core E8600 3.3 ghz
8 GB DDR2 ram
MSI gtx 580 oc
Win7 64bit

After re-setting the graphics to a custom version based on the High PC setting, I launched the game for the first time, up to the initial game start menu. Since I knew a patch was due soon, I didn't bother starting a game, and exited.

Yesterday evening I downloaded the International 1.1 and ran the installer. The install seemed to work ok, i.e. no reported errors. However, I did not clear my CookedPC dir beforehand of the previously installed DLC, and the launcher could not connect to the servers.

I started a new game, and imported a Witcher 1 save. Opening cinematic and cut scenes ran fine up to a particular section of the dialogue in the tent with Triss. During her response in the section about the dragon the scouts saw, the game crashed to the launcher. I tried running the game a few times, and it always crashed at the exact same point in her dialogue. Since I never got this far before patching, I do not know if this from the patch or something else. Anyone have a similar experience?

This morning I checked http://en.thewitcher.com/patch/ and found some odd things.
First part is straightforward:

1. If you have already installed and activated your version of The Witcher 2, you must download and install Patch 1.1 manually.

Specific versions differ according to the countries/regions and/or publishers listed below. Please select your version and click on the relevant link to download. After the patch has been downloaded, run the .exe file manually to update your copy of the game.

I did this last evening with the International version... Patcher_1.1_International.exe (16 MB)

Then, it goes on to say

2. If you are installing the game for the first time or re-installing it, the game will automatically patch online to version 1.1 during installation.

The installation program will ask you for an activation code. However, as the game is now DRM-free, you can enter anything in the relevant field. Installation and patching will proceed automatically. No further activation will be required. If auto-patching during installation does not work for any reason, download the patch manually, based on your region/version by selecting one of the links below, then run the .exe file to update your copy of the game.

The link is for another file, in my case:

It is not clear to me what the file Patcher_ROW.exe (29MB) is for! Is this to be applied after or instead of Patcher_1.1_International.exe ??

I've actually been having LOWER performance and FPS since the 1.1 patch. From 55-60 FPS pre-patch, I've gone down to 30-50. That is a SERIOUS dealbreaker for me, especially on my hardware (I5-760 @ 4Ghz, AMD 6970).

Same settings, same hardware. Patch broke something. What exactly, it isn't clear.
How can I revert to the previous version(GoG version here) ? Reinstall?

if you have the GOG version you simply need to uninstall the game (in the witcher 2 folder there is an "uninstall application) and resintall it from the installerr.

Steam version here, same thing, 1.1 has raped my performance.

It's really curious as to why people are experiencing worse frame rates. Maybe the auto detect changed your video settings? I don't know. I'm actually perfectly fine myself...

My performance suffered a bit too , but not much game still runs great on 5850.Tough i do feel sorry for CDPR , this stuff is really complicated , entire team , but especially engineers/programmers must be working their ass off.I wish them health and good luck as they will need both in this stressful post-release marathon.

No, I reconfigured my graphics and all. They also look worse than before. Low-res, blurrier.

Was fine for me. What is hard? The patch is in your My Account page. Removed mods installed patch. Reinstalled mods. Worked fine. [shrug]
I have a theory, but I'll get flamed............. What would cause a game's .exe to be "different" from what the patch expects........

Yes! Just what i was gonna add to my post! Textures do look blurrier and fuzzier now, a significant and obvious worse.
Settings are THE SAME. It's not that, i restarted the game 10 times to make sure it took them.

Also, while pre-patch I've never had stuttering issues, they've begun to appear now. In some areas worse then others.
