Well I can confirm that reinstalling the game doesn't autopatch to 1.1

I had thought I was patched..but then realized I wasn't..and manually installed the patch. Going back to test now to see if game is messed up now like others are claiming.

Can confirm this now, if you are patched to 1.1 (aside from the version info you can find) your launcher will say options instead of video and settings or whatever it said.

The patch has definitely improved FPS for me, though I got a bit bummed when it started to rain and FPS plummeted, anyone else having that issue?

i7@4ghz, 4gb RAM, GTX 580 SC, Windows 7 x64.

Cheers.
FPS seems unchanged..also, game seems to run worse..stuttering..glitching..more pop-in..

Not sure if it is just in my head or not..but sure seems that way.

DPB: I've no idea what's causing it, I've changed my settings back to those pre-patch. It doesn't appear to be related to streaming models or textures, since it's not working the hard drive at the time.
You're not alone:

Pop-in is definitely much much worse.
Check your settings. Mine were rest to Low. Had to rest everything. Looks fine now.

First thing I did of course. Tried every single preset and it was the same regardless of setting.
i had zero crashes in about 15 hours of play with the original gog.com version.

version 1.1 saw three crashes in about 30 minutes of play.

ugh.
I'm reinstalling because 1.1 broke the gamepad controls and I don't think I can make the transition from gamepad to keyboard + mouse when the gamepad feels a thousand times more natural and intuitive, especially in combat - for me, anyway.

Oh well, not big loss I suppose since I was (apparently) one of the few lucky ones that had absolutely zero problems with 1.0 (registered and downloaded the Troll Trouble DLC on day one, ran at ultra flawlessly, and experienced only a single crash in my 25+ hours of play)

Will wait until the next patch.

Wow, looks like patch 1.1 is actually breaking things that were better in GOG 1.0. So far only improve I'm seeing MAYBE that you get TT without having to resort to in-game installer...Or is it really 1.0. The big difference to me between Linux software and MS Windows software in my experience is this: Linux software rarely reaches 1.0 status but if it reaches 0.8 it is often more stable than Windows software that reaches 2.x status. From a Linux rating this Witcher 2 looks more like a Linux 0.5 in terms of versioning...next patch(1.2?) may bring it to 0.6.5..maybe..

thanks for the warning mate! :)
Patch fail :(

I am disappointed...I now have to reinstall AGAIN.

Also this means non of the DLC items will work (as they only work with 1.1 now)
This is the most fucked-up mess I have ever had the misfortune to try and use. You could not have made it more difficult for GOG purchasers had you tried to do so. What a fucking disaster.

I should clarify that it only 'breaks' the controls as far as the analog sticks not being usable in the radial menu (to select your signs, bombs, traps, etc.) or the journal or inventory - the d-pad works in the radial and other menus but there's no way to read longer journal entries with the gamepad unless you scroll with your mousewheel.

So, it's still perfectly playable if you don't mind using the d-pad to select your signs and to navigate most menus, and if you don't mind missing some journal entries.
Why can I not install this on my GOG version? Used the manual version and it says its incompatible - the Patcher in the game says I'm up to date...

EDIT: Read the previous pages and now I don't want to install this patch if it breaks the analogue control method I've been enjoying on my 360 pad....
