1.1 has totally killed my performance. In areas where I was getting 35-40 FPS I'm now getting 19. I'm gonna try what Norbiej did and reinstall and let it apply the patch automatically.

Running AMD 5850, 8 gigs Ram and Phenom II X4 B50
I've seen almost no difference with the patch, but then again, i had my save just in between act 1 & 2 and i can't tell if my framerate's up since these are all new places.

I didn't have trouble indoors before, but i see the inn in Vergen is taking down a lot of FPSes (i go down into the 15s) so could this be patch related?

Specs: Intel Quad Q8400 2.66ghz, 9800GTX+ 512mb VRAM, 6 GB DDR2 RAM, GOG edition.
okay i am officially frustrated. i had the game working, but could not get the patch installed. so uninstalled the game and the re-installed it, except this time i got the error at the end of the installation and now i get the launcher error and am unable to launch the game. this is fairly frustrating, given that i actuall had the game working and now cannot play it. any suggestions or ideas why i worked and now on the re-install it is not?

EDIT: Running that CC sweeper after uninstalling and then re-installing and now I am back in action without any issues. Also the version on MY PC tower installed on the first try.

mornegroth: Currently downloading the bigass Steam update. In the meantime I wanted to give the changelog a look but I couldn't find it anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction?
the change log people are here !

if you are concerned with widescreen => sorry no change.

if you are concerned with re-mapping keys => yes there is a change for good.

if you are pissed off because of random crashed => give it sometime to know for sure.

if you expect performance improvement => you have only 5% improvement which you cant not feel it.

if you still dont see the extra link to GOG after defeating the french monk in dice game => well I dont see it too.

I am reloading to re-play "Blood curse" the rite way, hopefully seeing that there is a fix

Anthedon: Still no 16:10 support or am I missing something? :(
?!?

I am playing it at 1680x1050
That's pretty much 16:10
PLayed this res, even before patching
Okay, based on this VERY mixed feedback, I think that I'd say the patch was not entirely ready yet. Its it my imagination or are purchasers most of the important testing here. Is that how commercial games are supposed to be? (sarcasm) first time I purchased a game the day it was released. Waiting for the next round of patches and testomonies before I install/play. Kinda fun reading the mixed results though.....

Yup.

I'm getting worse performance too. Thought it couldn't get any worse. I give up.. Time to look for something else to play while CDPR and Nvidia fix this mess of a game/drivers.

Maybe some less demanding games, like Crysis, Metro 2033 or ARMA2.

Uninstalling the game, deleting the Witcher 2 game folder, reinstalling and letting it update during the installation has solved the frame rate issue. My frames seem to be back to where they were before the patch.
So I ended up reinstalling, got it all patched now.

I thought they fixed the auto-detector though...still says Low for my system which is stupid since I run Ultra 35-85 FPS (Average 45 outdoor, 60 indoor)

You probably have a low system. I'm getting high detection on my GTX 260.
Weird my decent not-so-impressive PC install this game, register it, updating it, downloading the DLC, play it on Ultra setting, later manually patched to 1.1 with no whatsoever problem. Maybe its vary on certain system. I keep my PC tidy, neat, compact and clean by regularly doing maintenance.

The only problem is random crash/restart but i can confirm that is due to my inadequate power supply unit, other game didn't crash doesn't not mean anything because this game engine probably pushing the hardware to the limit thus produce more heat than usual and required more power. And also i'm not the type of guy that quickly pull the trigger before doing some research and find solution for my problem.

But this 1.1 patch has one bug for me, i can't move/scroll the sign menu and journal using my left analog stick anymore. That is no big deal for me, i'm trying to play without stress and try to enjoy the game as this is my 2nd playthrough.
No the detection is totally false.

It's reporting I only have 768mb of Vram when I have a 1GB 4890

It says I can only do medium, yet I can do ultra with these settings off at 35-55fps
aa disabled
vignette disabled (no fps change)
ssao disabled
ubersampling disabled
vsync disabled
dangling objects limit enabled

everything else is default.

I don't have an brand new system..but it's still good enough considering I run the game average 45-65 FPS..

It's my processor that probably causes the low..but still stupid IMO...since I run in Ultra with only uber and motion blur off. All else max.

E8400 and HD 6850.

Game runs fine..can't tell if patch has imrpoved anything..some areas seem the same though others I am 60 FPS even outdoors now.

Think I might start the game over since they have given free DLC to all.

Did more testing..definitely no improvement from patch...runs okay..some spots not very good (Like fighting in Flotsam slows down to 30 FPS..(I attacked the guards to test..5 guards fighting drpped the FPS)

Ah well..will just have to live with it..or upgrade.

I'm not noticing much improvement in terms of FPS but I have decent specs and was running it on high already anyway.

I heard they only fixed the arrow key re-mapping, and not the numpad keys.
Totally not cool, for the left handed players.
