AudreyWinter: What are you saying? "Select" is the same as "Start", I guess? Yes, I can go into the menu, but as long as I can't switch controls and use the mouse in the menu, I need the stick to work in the menu and the radial menu.

Hm... I guess we are not talking about the same thing. I mean navigating with the stick in the menu. Which was broken with the patch I installed earlier and other people said it is broken with the spanking new, official patch, too.
Ah, ok. I can't access the main menu with my ps3 pad (I probably could if I was to work out what the exact input would have to be changed to, but I digress), so couldn't test the main menu.

My analog stick wouldn't work on the quick menu though. Everything else was hunky dory in terms of fighting and moving and what not.

If the left analog stick won't work in the main menu, and I'm assuming the D-pad won't either, then I can see where you'd be screwed.

Just a heads up on those having any issues installing the GOG patch.

I tried installing the GOG patch and i got an error about invalid version.
Turned out to be my fault, i couldnt get the Troll Trouble DLC to work before cuz of that darn download loop.
So i copied the troll.dlc file from My Documents / The Witcher 2 / Downloads folder to my Witcher 2 / CookedPC folder and renamed it from troll.dlc to troll.dzip to fix it.

Well it seems the patch doesnt like that so i deleted my custom made troll.dzip and the patch installed just fine and made a new troll.dzip file for me.

Thanks for the info. Also hopefully you guys figure out what causes the no npc interaction bug i mentioned earlier since it just randomly locks up the npc's.

Yeah, this should be included instruction sin the patch but I don't think it is.

Others have said you need to remove any DLC or Mods (not sure if you have to remove them all, but it's easy to just remove the entire MOD directory.

More I play of it the only thing I'm hating is how you have to use the dpad on the quick menu. Why in the hell it isn't just a straight radial menu I'll never know.

So I installed the patch that they pulled hours ago and installed it just fine. Then I downloaded the proper officially released fixed one and it won't let me install it as it says it's already patched. The files seem to be exactly the same, both 15,207,935 bytes in size so I guess I'm missing nothing from just installing the patch that they had the link up to hours before they decided to enable downloading of it again.

Is this correct?

I had no problem with the normal version of this game, no bugs, no nothing, I'm in chapter 2, fuck this bullshit, I cant people CD projects is messing up soo bad with the launch of TW2, and where are the forums?

I mean, now they even ruined DOF in the new patch, FUCK, im downgrading, i had enough of this shit, going back to normal version.

Currently downloading the bigass Steam update. In the meantime I wanted to give the changelog a look but I couldn't find it anywhere. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Loooool! So now they simply deactivated DOF -as if we couldn't do it ourselves and HAVE been doing it ourselves- to "fix" the crashing? Oh my, we knew that already and hoped for a real fix. D'oh!

I think I am not worse off without the patch and DOF disabled anyway...
