I just get a critical error when I download it.

Unfortunately I've installed the patch from yesterday. And still I have the "connection error. try again later." issue. Does anyone else have this issue?

Remove all dlc and mods temporarily, aply patch, and paste the dlc and files back into cookedpc folder.

NewYears1978: I was wrong, can't be the same patch, last night was 14mb, now it's 9mb..

Well, the HTTP link that is up is a 14MB file, but the one under My Account on GOG.com is 9mb.

One of them must wrong..?

its compressed they zipped it up so the download is 9 but the unpacked is 14

For the GOG.com version of The Witcher 2, please use the patch available at the GOG.com website.
Shouldn't there be a link somewhere on Gog? Seriously, are they going out of their way to make the patching process as much of a pita as possible.

Why would there be different compressions of the same patch? It's the same file on both links..just different sizes...

Oh well.

Nevermind, your edit made sense. I didn't look at it so didn't realize it was zipped.

Ok i just tested the game, the patch runs very very well.

I'm getting an increase of more then 8 fps (used to be 45-50) now it's 58-60 solid. This is on a single ati hd 5870.

Video settings:

Texture downscaling: None
Texture memory size (MB): medium
Shadow Quality: Ultra
Number of shadowed lights: Ultra
LOD distance: normal
Bloom: enabled
Light shafts:enabled
Anti-aliasing: enabled
Blur effects: enabled
Depht of field-gameplay: enabled
Vignette: enabled
Wet surfaces rain effect: enabled
SSAO: DISABLED
motion blur: DISABLED ( i hate all motion blur, that's why)
Cinematic depth of view: enabled
Depth of field-cutscenes:enabled
Dangling objects limited: disabled
Ubersampling: DISABLED
Vertical Sync: enabled
Decals: High Spec


Those who have the retail edition: download patch-> temporarily replace your mods and dlc from cookedpc folder somewhere else-> apply patch -> put everything back into cookedpc folder -> start up the game-> enjoy
