SOOOO funny... a bunch of idiot noobs that can even see the facts right under their nose.

Yes you CAN play with a m/kb, but it's a joke, pointless and unweildly and it CERTAINLY wasn't designed that way...I've been a PC gamer all my days, that's the way I prefer to play BUT ONLY IN GAMES THAT MERIT IT (which I wish this was one).

The fact of the matter is, why would ANYONE play a game, scrabbling for a shit load of buttons, WHEN THERE IS NO EARTHLY ADVANTAGE TO IT, and conversly quite a disadvantage.

Face it people, the game is purely console designed, console interface, console button mashing combat, QTE's, scrolling menu boxes, a LIST substituing for an inventory, no PC MONITOR SUPPORT (surely even the most rabid have to agree that this isn't merely an oversight).. all this and the fact that there's already a working xbox version.. it's the only way the ESRB can issue a rating.

I honestly don't mind you all vocally supporting a beloved developer, hell Witcher 1 was a triumph that I truly hoped would be repeated... but when you all blindly rage against people who quite rightly have a hell of a lot of issues with the disparity of what we were led to belive we would get and the final product you're not helping the PC gamers stance.. in fact you are harming it irreparabley because if you fully accept the design liberties that have been taken then there will be no reason to alter future games to a control scheme that makes sense for the platform.

M/kb is a far more pliable and effective control scheme WHEN GAMES CALL FOR IT.. but this game certainly doesn't in any way whatsoever, I've tried both and compared to the gamepad, playing this game with a keyboard is ridiculously clunky and ham fisted.

So instead of trying to gain points, against player who don't want to have to fight with a control scheme in a game that wasn't designed for it anyway, with whiney, smart ass, dickery oneupmanship (yes, whiney.. your whines are worse that those who 'whine' over genuine game problems) that appeals only whiney smart ass dicks, tackle the real issue of WHY is this game easier and more comfortable to play with a gamepad when it was supposed to be a PC game, which as prime whiney above states doesn't come with a gamepad.

Jesus christ people... have you even come across the word 'priority'?

OH and BTW CDP.. FIX THE GAMEPAD.

Yeah, it still is bullshit, so you can stop going overexcited about it. cause you're simply wrong.

I have both a good mouse and a 360 gamepad, I tried both and I know what I'm talking about.
I can assure you that to me K&M is far more comfortable in this game. And same thing goes for almost any of my friends who bought the game.
I have a Razer Naga Molten and a Microsoft wired gamepad , i tried playing with both the keyboard & mouse and with my 360 controller and it feels more playable in my opinion with my controller than playing with my Naga + Belkin N52 TE. I prefer playing PC games over consoles games anytime but TW2 seems to work better with a gamepad well untill they broke the gamepad hehe
No self-respecting PC gamer even owns a gamepad, for they are devices conceived by Satan for the unwashed console gaming masses.

CaptainKremin: FYI... there's NO REASON to play this game with mouse and keyboard..
Except I enjoy doing so, and feel I have superior control, not to mention superior access to hotkeys.

So, sorry to disrupt your little attempt at an absolute there.
um, Cap, stop being a troll.
You like using a controller , so use it. I like it too, I use it. I dont insult people that feel more comfortable using something else. Opinions=/= Facts...

Sensible gamers use the input device best suited to the game they're playing, this game has obviously been designed with consoles in mind so a gamepad makes sense.

The assumptions, insults and snobbery being bandied about in here are quite entertaining. Sensible has little to do with it and statements like that are a prime example.

Not going to join the debate for or against <insert favorite controller here>. It really serves no purpose but to entertain folks such as myself. But let me help you out a bit:

Sensible gamers use the input device best suited to their style of play and what they are comfortable with.

There. That's better.
Yea, I know, wasted typing, but who knows.
Back to the bashing. };-)>

How do you manage to post from your own rectum? that's quite a trick, you should be in a circus. Now go away and read the post I was replying to, if you don't understand what is being said then get an adult to explain it to you.
I haven't played the game yet, and I have a question regarding controller/keyboard.

If using a controller, how do you quickly cast a sign?

I ask because there aren't enough controller buttons to use a set key for each different sign.

I assume you have to use the "Quick Menu" to select the sign, then "B" to cast?

Wouldn't that be a lot more clunky than using a keyboard, where you can instantly press the desired sign key?
Use a controller myself, and am happy CDPR built in controller support.

To answer the question, yes a trigger button pulls up the quick menu, select using d-pad and cast with B button. Effectively 2 "slots", B-button casts selected sign, right bumper activates selected quick slot item (bombs, traps etc).

I prefer controllers for this type of game. Strategy games I tend to use KB+M. Use a KB+M emulator for games that don't natively support controllers. Ideally I utilize the best of both worlds: gamepad for movement/combat/NPC interaction, keeping the mouse handy for managing inventory screens etc. Oblivion played nicely in this manner. Stalker does too.

I hate KB+M advocates....like trying to discuss differing religeous viewpoints with a 110% brainwashed fanatic.
Thanks for the reply.

I'm undecided which one to use yet, what fanatics of either side prefer doesn't sway me.

Anway, doesn't using the controller hinder you in a way, as you don't have a dedicated key for each sign?

Whereas with the keyboard you do, and you can instantly use which ever one suits the situation.

Not really, that is why they implemented the radial menu for selection of signs and items. Before someone bashes me, I do play with mouse/keyboard, simply because I cannot be bothered to install my gamepad drivers for one game. Also because I played the first witcher with just the keyboard and mouse. If they game works for those who play gamepad, why bash them? And vice versa? Seems senseless, and a waste of time (hmm signs of youth?).

I came to this topic because I noticed that it was a "The Onion" news post, so I thought that was funny, but to see it devolved into some mouse/keyboard vs gamepad combo has actually been more amusing.
