Like it's been posted by some people elsewhere, I found the same ghost. If anyone knows what is this about, let me know, please. Same thing here. Found her in two playthroughs already Her name is Lonan. That much I know after a few reloads to see if I could finish her off but she just vanishes when about to die. There no reference to her anywhere to be found, not even in the game guide! (and the biatch hits hard. Scared the **** out of me (going Insane.. cannot die or GG) I think she only appears at midnight. Will try find her the next night, hoping she doesn't regen health, after I face the Kayran, well, if I survive it!

i've killed her. she drops a silver ring. no other info it it's part of a quest or something.

I can tell you what is in the journal, the model appears with Bruxae after you read that particular book but, is in game a wraith like ghost in that one area only around midnight at that tree & has a multitude of random names, I got Enya once even. XD

Might be an unfinished side quest or just a hidden bit.

She only appears once per game I believe, always at midnight and drops a silver ring if we manage to kill her. I trapped the tree around 10pm and she died! hehe Yeah, I noticed that she has a new name everytime!

I haven't seen her, but then again, I am rarely stomping around in the swamp after dark.

Hmm.. guess I was wrong... they do respaw on the same game, but with different names too. I had a go at the swamp for mutagens hunting after the bath with Triss and resting for some 20 hrs. And the ghosts always drop a silver ring only! Blergh!

Amazing how all those pesky things grow fast in that World. Only 24 hrs and there they are all up and running again!

Yeah. Sadly I think it shows they may have wanted to add other creatures from the mythos but didn't have time, maybe. Also, Bruxae use to be totally nude, maybe they were scared of doing that this time, no idea why though.
