So I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks now, with no help and only several posts of people encountering the same issue. In the Blood Curse quest (King Henselt's curse) after killing the wraiths and after King Henselt stabs Sabrina with the spear head, King Henselt has a short conversation with Geralt. After Henselt's invited Geralt to join him in his tent, when the cutscene finishes, I seem to be left with only a black screen: I can hear I'm only able to walk and use my sword, nothing else, not even quicksave. I've tried going back to autosaves, but with no luck. I've patched up to version 1.2 and the fix for the blood curse bug which is patched in v1.1 is a totally different bug than mine. Can somebody explain what is wrong with the game and maybe give me a fix? I'm glad to upload the save so you can see it for yourself. Thanks...

I did read that thread already (sorry, this is the first time I've posted something on a forum and I remember now that you are not allowed to start posts that are similar), but when I unequipped everything the screen still went black.. I guess I can only go back and opt for Iorveth's side instead of Roche's, so to anyone reading this: I don't know anything else to do, but I know that you will evade the problem this way.

You can upload your save so others can check it out and - if it works - upload you a save after that point, perhaps? Not a perfect solution, but at least you'd be able to continue.

But, are you sure you updated to v1.2? The file shouldn't be that big - it shouldn't be over 2mb.

Yes I'm sure, first the 1.1 patch and secondly the 1.2 patch. I know, I found that weird too, just checked the save files and they seem to be getting bigger up to 15,5 mb, but after my 135th save file they start with around 4 mb again and counting. Hope you can manage to find my problem and I'm sorry if it's something superstupid but I just don't know how to fix it.

Bad news, the screen goes black to me too, I can only hear the footsteps, like you said. The file seems to be bugged.

Try sending it to tw2support@cdprojektred.com, explain them problem and see if they can help. Best of luck, I'm very sorry this happened to you :(

All right, thanks for trying. Now I know I'm not an idiot for overseeing something obvious.

Tried too, no success infortunately.
Tried to save immediately after, the file reduced to 1.6 Mb, then unload all daggers and bombs, and steel sword, nothing worked.

That's definately something messy with this savegame -_-;

Black screen for me as well. Re-saving and changing video settings didn't help.

Looks like a corrupt save.

Email tech-support.

Or if you want to, you can try increasingly older saves.

Yeah, I know, I tried all that too. Re-saving doesn't reduce my save file size though.. I don't know, but the stupid thing is that I don't seem to be the only one with this problem, although there aren't many. I've e-mailed tech support and they've come up with a couple solutions, but nothing out of the ordinary (running it as administrator in XP-mode, in windowed mode, but I've tried all that) but the programmers are working on it right now. I'll post something back if I know something more so other people can hopefully fix it. Thanks for your help so far and to anyone without a solution: try playing Iorveth's side of the story, it's a lot of fun too and that way you get to do quests that aren't included in Roche's side of the story so you don't ruin anything.

Edit: Well, still no reply back from the programmers... I guess you should just try continuing down the Iorveth-path... I did, and it was just as nice a storyline as Roche's.
