Jedilink: I don't know, Valve is pretty good to their customers.
Agree with you but it might bring a train of black headcrab zombie on yourself for saying that if an anti-drm zealot come to pass. =p

thelostdunmer: I sent them this email today:

Dear GOG and CDPR,

Guys are you really crazy?

Why would you release a new game without DRM? This is a very big risk on you guys!

I'm really happy that you are releasing The Witcher 2 DRM free but I'm really afraid for you guys. This is unprecedented in the gaming industry. I mean releasing a "fucking" new game without DRM? See I even used the "F" word because I'm really concerned with you guys at GOG and CDPR.

Here's a little secret, I used to circumvent the DRM of new games but when I really like a game and I have respect for the developer (that's you CDPR, I love your shit!) not so with the publisher (I love ATARI, fuck you EA!) by the way, I really don't mind paying as much as $100.00 for a new game.

Okay, that's it, there's some other catch no? Hahaha, my head is spinning because of this new incredible, INCREDIBLE PRE-ORDER.

What's more surprising is you didn't even bill me yet, what the hell? And you're giving away now much of the content that I want on a collector's edition. Don't get me wrong, I'm not selfish and I also like to share great material from The Witcher, yes I know I lent it to other people but hey they promised me to buy The Witcher 2 once it comes out in fact they were the ones who informed me about this dizzying PRE-ORDER of The Witcher 2. Hell, I'm the one who introduced them to The Witcher, why should I be the last one to know? :-P

Promise me only one thing guys, I value honesty and if you say its DRM free its really DRM free. Although even if you add DRM at the last minute I'll still buy The Witcher 2 and that I promise you guys.

By the way, I'm from the Philippines and I love Poland! Polish people rock!

Sincerely,

Seriously look up sins of a solar empire.... its proof no DRM can work

Leondres: I have seriously believed in you guys since you let out the witcher.
They've had my vote since they listened to what the gamers said and used that to help compile the Enhanced Edition a year later ... AND then offered the EE patch to everyone who had already purchased the game for free so that they could benefit and not have to buy the game twice. there are few companies that I actually believe the hype about, but when CDProjekt says they care about games b/c they are gamers ... I actually believe the official line since they've backed their words with actions.
I'm just posting my 2 cents as to how awesome CD Projekt truly are. I'm still waiting on word on the DRM used in the retail versions but either way, I am honestly considering buying 2 copies of The Witcher 2 - one collector's edition and one GoG.com version.

To any CD Projekt staffers reading this, keep up the good work. It's people like you that make me proud to be a PC gamer.
CD Projekt et al.: I knew you people were special as soon as I played The Witcher for 5 minutes, then browsed the GOG site. Companies like yours are very rare nowadays. Thank you for all you do and keep it up. With services and products like this, the competition doesn't stand a chance.

Either way, good customer service is what devs should focus on. When a dev gives fans free stuff or extra goodies or free DLC or something that makes me want to buy their future products. Plus it seems that the devs who do these things also seem to make GOOD games anyway. :D
I like Valve. I use steam as my universal game launcher. They are great.

But CDProjekt guys are simply on another level + they have balls of steel.
totaly agree going to pre order this. gog love lol
I can't begin to tell you how EXCELLENT this is! I've been waiting for TW2 since I finished the fifth playthrough of TW1, and now it comes through GOG, DRM-Free! YEEESSS!!! Take THAT, Ubi-Soft!

Ooops... I think I wet myself... ;)

Preordered, obviously.

Gunnar
Well done boys (and girls). Thank you gog:

- Since the EU price is almost $16 more than the price in USD, we’re giving our EU customers a $16 credit to purchase anything on GOG.com.
- DRM Free
- Extra content + 1 free game.

I really love gog.com Thx.

Hi all!

New member obviously but I wouldn't be one if not for TW2 in co-operation with GOG promoting NO DRM's.

My 1st time going digital d/l, however I will be getting the collectors edition as well to go with my all time favorites with Witcher being top of my list period. :D

GO RED TEAM!

Thanks GOG.

Hey welcome ;)
Hope you find many more things you like here in GOG.
I am a big Witcher fan also. Iv'e downloaded some games already (mostly classics), but TW1 EE was the first retail game I bought like in a decade.
Check out the rpg section here I think you'll like it.
Cheers.

Thanks. I'm curing my TW2 wait with NWN if I ever finish d/l that is. XD

Are you also on the Witcher site forums?

Me too, I mostly lurk around in anonymity reading stuff.

As fund as the Witcher 1 and the many, many, many games played I am excited completely for TW2.

YAY! =)
I have to agree, GoG and CD Projekt is awesome. I often hate gaming companies like Activision and Valve (though sadly I like steam) because they blatantly dont give a fuck about the customers and also in so obvious ways act insanely greedy.

But I think CD Projekt and GoG are great, never a bad thought about them or experience. In fact I preordered both the GoG version of Witcher 2 and the Physical CE from Amazon.com to support the company, which is something I never do (buy 2 copies of the same game).

Keep it up guys!
