I have seriously believed in you guys since you let out the witcher. Amazing game, and then you came up with the concept of gog.com. Now, you present us with this, a preorder for the witcher 2, filled with tons of free stuff and money off the game. Thank you for honestly caring for the people who buy you games and making them all drm free. Thank you for trusting us!

Instant Preorder and sale

Thanks again!
I agree! I haven't seen this from a company as far back as the mid-90s!
No kidding, CD Project has no equal - they are the most customer fan friendly game company in the industry.

And that has to be rewarded, so I am getting witcher 2 both here on gog and in its retail CE as well!
CD projekt, you guys are awesome! keep up the good work.

pd. pretty please, add support for linux for dosbox games!
GoG (and CD Projekt of course) is the best in relationship with their customers. I already preorder my CE and GoG version!

Now, I think, it is time to get release first Witcher on GoG.
Thanks a ton, guys! You're fantastic!

in before someone ruins the mood by mentioning System Shock 2... oh wait ;-)

Paradox interactive is has friendly also (At least on their on developpement, which are all DRM free, but for game they publish the choice is in the hand of the dev not their)

But thank you for making a statement GOG and CDP. =)

Just pre-ordered Witcher 2, and was amazed and delighted to see that it took just one little mouse click to do it.

Now the agony of the wait... :-)

Thank you GOG and CD Projeckt RED!!!
high rated
I sent them this email today:

Dear GOG and CDPR,

Guys are you really crazy?

Why would you release a new game without DRM? This is a very big risk on you guys!

I'm really happy that you are releasing The Witcher 2 DRM free but I'm really afraid for you guys. This is unprecedented in the gaming industry. I mean releasing a "fucking" new game without DRM? See I even used the "F" word because I'm really concerned with you guys at GOG and CDPR.

Here's a little secret, I used to circumvent the DRM of new games but when I really like a game and I have respect for the developer (that's you CDPR, I love your shit!) not so with the publisher (I love ATARI, fuck you EA!) by the way, I really don't mind paying as much as $100.00 for a new game.

Okay, that's it, there's some other catch no? Hahaha, my head is spinning because of this new incredible, INCREDIBLE PRE-ORDER.

What's more surprising is you didn't even bill me yet, what the hell? And you're giving away now much of the content that I want on a collector's edition. Don't get me wrong, I'm not selfish and I also like to share great material from The Witcher, yes I know I lent it to other people but hey they promised me to buy The Witcher 2 once it comes out in fact they were the ones who informed me about this dizzying PRE-ORDER of The Witcher 2. Hell, I'm the one who introduced them to The Witcher, why should I be the last one to know? :-P

Promise me only one thing guys, I value honesty and if you say its DRM free its really DRM free. Although even if you add DRM at the last minute I'll still buy The Witcher 2 and that I promise you guys.

By the way, I'm from the Philippines and I love Poland! Polish people rock!

Sincerely,

OMG, spot-on!!!
Exactly my feelings, could not put them into better words. Cheers!

What I would like to add in the odd chance anyone finds this interesting, here are some examples that made me endear myself to the developers, after I was already a big fan of TW. I mean, these are examples of when I realized CDP where above all the rest, not just in terms of making great games, but in terms of principles, values and policies:

1) Quote from QA's on GameSpot after the first leaked video of TW2:
"Given the enormous amount of feedback we got from fans and the media after the leak, we realized just how big the expectations are and how many people have been waiting for this game to be announced. We're going through and summarizing all the comments that have been posted about the video on various Web sites, and we'll be comparing them against all the ideas we have for the game. As always, we're taking our fans' opinions to heart, and I can say we already know some of them will affect the game's development. I can assure everyone that we'll be putting every effort into making this game a truly outstanding RPG experience. People can keep up on game announcements at our official Web site. "

How many developers can honestly say those words nowadays???

2) The secret frame on the official Debut Trailer of TW2 in itself, for the fact, and for what it said. Specially for this:
"A game created by a team of independent thinkers immune to corporate priorities, who don't care what's trendy at a given moment "

That for me seemed something impossible to expect from a dev team in these modern times. Blew me away.
I would say the are not just doing the talking, but doing the walking also. Would you???

FOR ALL THIS AND MORE, THANK YOU CDP!!!
MAY YOU NEVER CHANGE.

I would like to voice my concerns in this thread.

So I'd be paying my hard earned money for this product, and you'd offer all these extra features, but you seem to be leaving out a pretty important feature many games are gladly including. DRM.

As a paying customer, I am at a loss. Do I just not play it when my internet dies? Should I only play it when I put a blank CD in it? What should I do?

I find it astounding that you would leave out such a big part of the game and expect us, the paying customer, to supply it ourselves. Do your jobs.

...

And if you couldn't tell, that above letter was all just me being silly. I really love how you guys leave out DRM. Honestly, it brings a tear to my eye every time I come here. To see a company that still puts its customers first. A company that treats its customers like actual people instead of criminals. I know people who bought games they didn't really want, solely because you treated them like, well like people.

Keep up the good work GoG. I love you.
I just want to say GoG and CD Projekt red are light years beyond the rest in the gaming industry when it comes to treating your customers with respect and delivering quality. No other company even comes close and we can only hope they begin to follow the example you guys have set....ha! right.

You guys rule, so you guys get my money and your competitors don't.
Damnit no delete, forgot I did a reply earlier in tread and just came to repeat myself, been on the forum for too long today. =p Guess that come from having nothing to do tonight and not know what to play. =p

This is pretty much how I feel.

I used to preorder games and pay in full if the game series proved to be promising but I stopped doing this after Mass Effect. I hated how I'd lay down my pre-order money and then the company just pisses in my face by throwing in some draconian DRM at the last minute. So I had stopped pre-ordering games all together since then. I went as far as to pirate any game that launched with DRM AND then pass the cracked copy to all of my friends.

However, I know GOG will never distribute a game with DRM so I know I won't get shafted at the last minute. Even if the Witcher 2 is worse than the Witcher 1, I am willing to support it if only for the principle of no DRM. I do wish I could put down the full payment for the Witcher 2 right now so when it releases I can just click into my account and start downloading immediately! Ah well

Still, thanks a million GoG! I hope this turns into something beautiful!

I don't know, Valve is pretty good to their customers.

Either way, good customer service is what devs should focus on. When a dev gives fans free stuff or extra goodies or free DLC or something that makes me want to buy their future products. Plus it seems that the devs who do these things also seem to make GOOD games anyway. :D
