i played through witcher1 about 2 years ago, with the hype of 3 i wanted to start 2 now.

1. i remember playing the witcher 1 on hard, how is the witcher 2 compared to witcher 1 difficulty? i only darkly remember some sections were annoying when you levelled up differently + it was kinda unbalanced? or am i remembering wrong?

2. you can import saves. is it recommendable? what changes?

3. the UBER setting seems to make my pc slow which is about 3 years old, i love those options, this is what pcs are for :)! but what pc can run fluid 60 fps with these settings?

4. i only loaded the tutorial so far but couldnt move my character?

1. Hardly to know. At the time when you are familiar with the keys and the control the game turns real easy, even in hard. Try darkmode if you want something more challenge. Maybe the beginning of the game can be frustrating... But it just a matter of time, a matter of memorize the keys in the combat and learn some strategies.

2. I think so, It just add two or three major choices from the witcher. If you kill of spare some lifes, like Thaler for example. Dont want to tell you more, but it does not alter anything from TW2. Also you keep your swords and your armor (Raven)

3. I dont have a computer able to move TW2 with uber. Its an eater performance. If you dont have SLI or Crossifere put it off.

4. I dont undestand that, sorry.

Pretty much what Silverio posted. Dark Mode is fun.
If you have an old Witcher 1 save, import it, otherwise it's not that big of a deal.
You'll need some sort of SLI/Crossfire for constant 60 fps with UBER setting, but it does run fluidly (30-60) on my single 980.
I'd recommend Downsampling with a tool like GeDoSaTo instead of the UBER setting.

If you're trying to play with a controller, it needs to be active before you start the game. At least I could not use my wireless 360 controller, when I turned it on after I've started the game.
You'll also have to go into the ingame options and set your device to the controller. Otherwise you can skip/select conversations with it, but not actually do anything else.

The Witcher 1 saves should be under C:/users/USERNAME/documents/The Witcher/Saves

It should auto detect them though, And you have to have a save from either the Order of The Flaming Rose HQ or from the Ice world.

my C: is a SSD and i have the files on another drive in a folder but TW2 doesnt find my saves :(

You'll have to put into the Path TheDukeDundee mentioned earlier. Otherwise the Game does not detect them.

To free up some space, you can delete Windows restore points. They can take up huge chunks of the SSD (40+GB).
Obvious downside, you don't have those restore points anymore. (google: delete restore points) (From the Witcher wikia)

There are five difficulty levels available in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings:
Easy – for inexperienced gamers. Geralt meets weaker opponents and receives less damage, while he himself deals more damage. Most battles can be won using only a sword.
Normal – for mid-advanced gamers. The opponents’ levels are normal. The gameplay is balanced. Most battles can be won using a sword and magical signs.
Hard – for very experienced gamers. Opponents deal high damage, and it’s harder to acquire items. Many battles require the use of a sword, magic and alchemy.
Dark - like Insane, but it is possible to load a saved game after Geralt dies. In addition, there is special chapter-specific set equipment for Geralt which potentially makes the game easier if they are gathered and equipped.
Insane – for unusually skilled gamers who expect an extremely high difficulty level. Opponents deal very high damage and no saved game can be loaded if Geralt dies. This difficulty level is more difficult than Hard.
