Have a question, the event when Geralt + Lothe / Viper Bois pursued The Hunt was after Geralt was stabbed and Yen tried to save him?

im abit confused of the correct cronological order of events and also the what really happened. To my understanding:

1. Geralt stabbed with pitchfork and died --->
2. Yen sacrificed herself to save Geralt --->
3. Ciri teleported them both to some unknown place(Ciri then disappeared?) --->
4. Geralt and Yen having fun in new isle --->
5. Wild Hunt appeared and kidnapped Yen --->
6. Geralt went to safe Yen --->
7. Geralt met Viper Bois and pursued Wild Hunt --->
8. Showdown between Geralt & Co. vs Wild Hunt --->
9. Geralt trade his soul to safe Yen --->
10. Geralt thrown to North Kingdom while Yen to Nil Kingdom, both suffer frm amnesia thus starting the events of TW 1.

Is that the correct order and events that happened?

That's what I got out of it, although it was my impression that Yen didn't actually manage to save Geralt and they both died. If it was explained how they eventually got out of that whole death thing then I missed it. Could play into Witcher 3 somehow, I suppose.
yea, theres a "gap" between the time they both died and the time when they both suddenly appeared at the "Isle" and met Wild Hunt + Viper Bois. I've snooped around and many ppl mentioned Ciri teleported both of them to the Isle(and somehow "healed/revive" them) before she disappeared. Its a possibility but i thought Ciri disappeared before Yen and Geralt got killed in the riot.

Are these events essentially what The Witcher 1 is about?

They were took to the isle by Ciri, who left their world and went to King Arthur's universe (according to the book), and they spent some time in there together until the Wild Hunt found them. I don't know about the English version, but in the Polish version Geralt says "we didn't count time" when he's remembering the events on the Isle of Apple-trees. IMO that means that after their "death" they lived in this paradise for some time and then they were attacked by the Wild Hunt.
@BakedGoods - nope, W1 takes place right after Geralt comes back from the dead for the second time essentially. The first time was when he left the Island to get Yennefer back, the second time is at the beginning of W1, when he's running half-naked through the forest. It is unknown how he escaped the Wild Hunt after he traded his soul for Yen's.

The thing I can't understand is that the world didn't realise that Geralt of Rivia, the White Wolf has come back from the dead when he chased the Wild Hunt. That was in the year 1271, and W1 takes place in 1275, and even Geralt's best friends like Dandelion or Zoltan think he's still dead before he meets them, even though it's said in the flashbacks that he was in Cintra and other countries questioning people about the children taken by the Hunt. It will either be explained in W3 or it means that CDPR came up with the explaination for Geralt's comeback after they finished writing W1 and they left some plotholes.

Oh...

Wait, so :

Geralt/Yen died at riot --> ported to Isle and revived by Ciri who then went to "paradise" --> Yen kidnapped by Wild Hunt --> Geralt left the Isle met Viper Bois to pursue Wild Hunt --> Geralt sold his Soul, Viper Bois escaped, Yen thrown to Nil kingdom Geralt thrown to North Kingdom. So technically he lost his memories after the showdown with Wild Hunt and sacrificing his soul right?

Sorry for asking again lol. TW1 made it seem that the primary cause of the amensia and separation is the death of Geralt during the riot and Yen dying to revive him, when it is in fact the part where Geralt fought and sold his soul that is the Main reason for the events that come.

The clues in the game explain some things.

Remember that time spent with the Wild Hunt flows at a different pace than the real world (I think this info comes from the manuscript found in the dwarven tombs where there is the Dun Banner). So the 5 years that Geralt was "away" from the kingdom could be a lot shorter time with the Hunt.

Amnesia is clearly explained as a side effect of meeting the Wild Hunt, cause some magnetic fields mumbo-jumbo. Everyone meeting them has amnesia. Yennefer, Geralt, and some other people that left clues around the world. The key part of this info, found during the game (don't remember which clue gives this info) is that if you encounter the Wild Hunt a second time, your memory may come back.
Geralt meets the King of the Wild Hunt in Witcher 1 (twice, in fact. A quest in chapter 1 and in endgame), so that's what make him start regain is memory right from the start of Witcher 2.

Only one thing is not yet clear to me. Why the Wild Hunt was specifically looking for Geralt and Yennefer? Even Letho ask this to Geralt, which he replies something like "I have an idea about that but won't tell to you".

The King wants to use Geralt and Yennefer to lure Ciri and force her to give birth to his child. He already tried that in the Saga, but failed because he was very old, even for an elf, and he found Ciri very ugly (mostly because of the scar on her face), therefore he couldn't "finish the job".
At least that's what makes the most sense to me.
My other theory is that he wants to brainwash Geralt and make him become a sorcerer. Vilgefortz wanted Geralt to be a sorcerer working for him, and Geralt could be an exceptionally powerful one, because his mother was a sorceress. That's also the reason why he is more powerful than the other witchers - he endured additional tests that would have killed even the most resistant human orphans.

Lol, Nilfgarian Emperor wants to copulate with her(damn incest perv), the Wild Hunt too, man shes a popular breeding choice. But they made a mistake of messing with Geralt's Surprise Child...

I doubt the Emperor wants to copulate with her since she's his daughter...
Nice spoiler in thread title, thank you.

Does it count as a spoiler if it doesn't actually happen in the game? It's referenced, but it happened in the books so it's technically not a spoiler any more than the thread titled "Yennefer."

Is this all CDPR's invention or does this happen in the books? Because I'm mainly lost by the fact that they died in Rivia, were sent to an isle (like a paradise in afterlife), Hunt takes Yen and then somehow Geralt is alive again and pursuing them? I don't understand this completely no matter how many times I play the game.

Is Geralt somekind of a christ being able to resurrect from the dead? Is Ciri a necromancer? Has the isle somekind of magical powers to bring the dead back to life?

Apparently he does, its incest but after having found out about Ciri's significance and the Ithline Prophecy, he is planning the same thing as the Wild Hunt, sending Cahir and Stefan though im not sure what made him think that the prophecy was meant for him since its meant for the Wild Hunt.

@Iguvigu, i didnt read every single book but got some insight from my Polish friend, afaik whats been mentioned all happens in the game only, mostly. But the underlying motives, plans are hinted in the books... So essentially the games are sequels to the book...

My apologies, I read the whole Saga twice but it looks like I forgot about that. The witcher wiki says you're right. Looks like I need to refresh my lore knowledge.
