I need help with the fight against Letho! This is my 30th time fighting him. No kidding. 30 times. I am playing on Normal, and I just can't take it! This fight is killing me. I've tried TONS of different strategies, none of which work. I get him AT THE MOST to 90% hp and then die. This game is so frustrating in difficult, but I am -ok- in normal fights, but these boss fights; especially this one is just killing me!

I don't know what to do, I really don't want to put it down to Easy because I want to beat the whole game on Normal. What should I do?

Bombs, throw all of them at him when he gets out of his defensive state. Keep rolling around and don't let him corner you. When the fight starts, blast him with the Aard sign before he uses Quen and damage him some.

The only thing that worked for me was rolling around with Quen until his shield went down, then I got close to him to bait him into an attack, at which point I got him from the sides and behind. Repeat and repeat. If you're filling brave you can use Aard on him when he's open but he'll blast you with the same spell too, or worse.

Roll around with Queen, avoid his Igni and Aard. When his shield is down, use left button to approach and try to land as many hits as you can. Don't stay in one place and swallow a swallow before the fight.

If you happen to have throwing knives, Letho is a Piece of Lembas. Just wait for his shield to drop.

what talents have you upgrade? if you have a upgraded quen sign it should help a lot. also use swallow (potion) and yrden sign to trap him. Must dodge all the arrd sign and igni sign. after using a yrden sign then light>heavy>heavy and roll away. don't expect to kill him in few combination like this. its all about hit and run

When you see he's about to attack you roll behind him and strike him a couple of times, repeat. I also used Snare traps on this fight which worked pretty well.. I'd lead him to one side of the room then when he's about to attack roll to the other side and drop a snare trap. He'll walk over it and take some damage and be staggered leaving you another opening to attack him.

This fight is really about being patient, don't ever expect to get more than 1-2 maybe 3 swings in before he hits you.

what i did was right at the start of the fight, he pauses to put a quen on himself, attack him with strong blows, you should get a couple of free shots on him, then put your quen on then attack him once or twice with a strong attack, roll away then repeat. Im using a 360 controller, and seriously, that changed the game for me. I might suggest you do the same :)

In addition to what has been said about using quen, yrden and dodging his attacks followed by a couple of strikes:

Plaster the ground (especially around the middle) with traps. I'm not sure if it is intended, but his Aard and Igni signs will get caught up in the "trashed" traps and pose no danger as long as you keep those traps between him and you. That helped me A LOT.

I was raging so hard at this fight. I put the difficulty down to easy, and hacked away at him until he died, then pumped difficulty back up to normal. I'm enjoying Act 2 as we speak!

I would follow GrimTuesday's advice, honestly.

It is a good one.

Set the Game on Easy, have a good whack at him, and he shouldn't last for long.

The rest of the game awaits you, it's enjoyable (story), and there is nothing that says you absolutely need to kill him on Normal right NOW, or even later.

Just block, attack until he blocks you, block his attack, attack until he blocks you, rinse and repeat. Easy kill.

Actually, reading this is kinda hilarious as I already had to suffer under Letho's cowardly-Quen-spamming-and-Aard&Igni-the-shit-ouf-of-Geralt combat style and it took me a few tries as well (not even close to 50 though ^.^). :P No offence meant.

My guess is: You're still too offensive. It's really 90% about not getting hit. Wait for clear openings and don't even think about getting close to him without your Quen being active. Wear him down slowly and don't worry if the fight takes longer than just a few moments.

I just cheesed him with throwing knives. Killed him in about 45 seconds. 10-15 knives. 1 point in throwing knife ability.

You can throw them faster than bombs, and each one staggers him a half second, so I just blew through a stack and he was almost half dead, taking a couple quick swipes to finish him. As with anything else, you have to wait till his blue Quen shield spell is not on, or its pointless to attack him.
