dnna: Yeah, it's a type of small parrot :) She likes chirping along to sounds of battle, it's quite a party in here. Here are some photos of her if you want to see [/shameless pet promo]

AudreyWinter: Beautiful art, girl! But... you don't like Geralt's nose? Really? Was the first thing that fascinated me about him (the line from forehead to nose, specifically).
Thank you!

No, where did I say that? I love his nose! It's the most perfect nose I've ever seen, I really like the way it curves downwards. It gives him so much character :)

Oh wait, I made that post a bit unclear. I originally wanted to practice more noses and looked in my games folder and realised designers usually pay no attention to noses, just make some generic ones. It is NOT the case with The Witcher, every character is designed to the tiniest detail. I was amazed when I noticed Geralt has slightly crooked teeth, not to mention Iorveth's missing teeth.

Oh... okay. Strangely, I believe I see a different nose, a perfectly straight one, where you like to give him a bit of a crooked nose. Not bad either, but I just don't see a lot of curves. ;)
We should consult Sticky on that! :D

I agree about the great amount of detail, though. Those artists at RED really did an awesome job with lots of hours, I bet. They even worked another year on Geralt's model, after fans did not respond well to the first one!

Oh, erm, you're probably right, I automatically draw a more crooked nose because that's how I see it in my head. See, this is why I decided I need more practice :P Sticky is free to come over and purr in my lap while I do so, I even have a cat that is quite similar to her, but sadly not a fan of electronic entertainment.

Oh, that first model... scared the hell out of me. I'm glad they changed it, the 'new' Geralt is so fiiiiiiiine.
It's a well known fact that cats have an affinity for magic, especially the black ones. :)

Endrevius: It does not happen with every game i play. So i bet that she liked TW2 as much as i did. She cant talk so the pictures will speak for herself as a review . Look at her ears, she was listening to dialogs and music surrounded by 6 speakers all the time. And look at the last picture, taken the next day after i've finished the game, its like "what? no Witcher today?". I think she was a bit disappointed that TW2 is so short in single play through as most of us.
Now, does her opinion count?? She's 15 years old. She listened/seen most of cRPG games since Baldur's Gate, so she knows whats good ;].
Her name is Sticky btw.
Very cute +1
This deserves to be bumped :)

Endrevius: She will definitely see 4 out of those 16, since before taking the other path in Act II we already think of different routes and decisions in one we took ;].
We're just waiting for another few spare days for that.
As for a time of playthrough it took us 3 whole days with breaks for food, sleep etc. And at 4th day at the morning, You can see what happened on last pic, she was ready for more.
I really cant remember how many years have passed since last time that we've seen such game, that kept us by the monitor so strongly. Me aside, but what about her, she has plenty of more comfortable places for taking naps than mouse pad where something is moving, touching and pushing her all the time.

coastie65: She is the perfect critic. At 15, she is definitely living a good life. Haven't had a cat for some time. My last one "Smokey" got Cancer and had to be be out to sleep, but he had a lot of years. I do have a 2 Year old Shar Pei though. He is very nosey.

Baby PIcture:

My first cat shared a destiny with Smokey. Its pretty common sadly... He's name was "Mouse" and he was a real male mofo killer ;]. I was training him for killing till my whole arm was bleeding, heh i was rly young then. A few examples of results of that training: He chased away my fathers mother-in-law while she was yelling at him cause he, well, had friend's namesday after work ;] She run out of our house without a boots, coat, etc. only with some blanket with witch she was trying to cover her bleeding arm from furious attacks :D Once that cat stood in my defiance while my 5y older sister was about to kick my arse, blood all over again ;]. And once he almost murdered my sisters boyfriend while he was opening front doors with keys that my sister gave him, there were only limited amount of ppl that could open with keys those steal heavy doors into his own domain ;].

Anyway back to the topic, Mouse couldn't make a difference in Sticky's review, even though he had way bigger experience in RPGs. I doubt any living specie could like sounds made by ZX Spectrum on witch i was playing my very first cRPG (i remeber that i had stats, and there was a skeleton and he had stats as well, thats all i remember from that rpg ;]), expect some nearly extinct specie of homo eightbitus. Neither i see a cat that could like sounds coming out of Amiga(eye of beholder, ishar and Many others), so perfect for us, humans, in those days.
Also hes memories of me being GM in real RPGs like Warhammer Fantasy RPG, AD&D and some others couldn't affect Sticy's review.

So is there a pure magic that kept Sticky on mouse pad while we were playing TW2? There is an explanation that i know, and You could guess with my hints. But bare in mind that that explanation could strip Sticky's review from most of that magic.

My first hint is: Know an elder cats habits.
I had one that was somewhat of an attack cat. He was a barn cat that I got as a kitten, and somewhat feral. He did alright for the most part, bit could get downright mean at times. : ) I was looking at the picture of Sticky, and wondered about Cat hair and the computer. Not a good combination that. Never had an Amiga. I did have a Commodore 64 and then 128. The Amiga was outside of my price range, but had some of the best graphics at that time.

As to elder cats habits, they do tend to like someplace warm and being next to the computer is a pretty warm spot. : )

Yeah thats what I'd have guessed too..
My cat passed away last saturday.. Was a harsh weekend.. I have a Bengal too but she's not one for comapny.. Its taken 4 years to get her to sit on my lap for a few minutes.

I worked my first job for an Amiga.. If id ever admit to being a fanboy of something its C=.
Speaking of which, (lol see how smooth that was?) Did you hear Commadore is bringing out a new C64x?

Yep. I heard about that and have seen some pics. Commodore has been putting out stuff in the U.K. I saw some a couple yers ago that were running Windows and Intel Quads. Pretty pricey though. I stll have the C-128 system packed away with a bunch of 5 1/4" Floppy based software. I would imagine it was a harsh weekend. I remember when I lost my Shar Pei Andy in Feb. '09. The one I have now is my third Shar Pei.

That is a good picture and a beautiful cat to be sure. I have never seen one like that.
How many ways can the Witcher skin that cat??? That I want to see on YouTube.. Please Post!!

Gidzin: How many ways can the Witcher skin that cat??? That I want to see on YouTube.. Please Post!!
Witcher wouldn't hurt a cat, neither would anyone within his world. Maybe only if in another scene that person would die in most horid and bloody way You can imagine. All because thats Sapkowski's world only his rules apply here, and Sapkowski loves cats more that any other beings.

As for my little quiz, coastie65 You did hit the spot. warmth is the answer. I've got here hell of a big machine that i've stole from NASA. Not many things can worm it up enough, but resource demanding TW2 made it pretty hot. Upper ventilator blows part of that generated heat just few cm below the desk heating it like fire below frying pan, basically making whole desk area nice, warm and cozy. And mouse pad is most obvious place for a cat to lie on to, flat and always clean.
You sure it has nothing to do with the mouse on the mouse pad?
After all... a cat is a cat :)
Charismatic Autonomous Terminator (CAT)

The Mark I Charismatic Autonomous Terminator (CAT) system is a family of intelligent, stealthy, terminal-homing mouse-seeking missiles featuring multi-sensor targeting with dual night-vision devices, and neural-net architecture.
The CAT's self-righting inertial platform allows launch from any attitude. Integrated multi-aspect attack profile with indefinite- loiter mode insure a wide lethality envelope. Upon target engagement, the CAT deploys four clusters of retractable submunitions in addition to the primary warhead, providing an enhanced radius of destruction.
The CAT uses regular or exotic solid or liquid fuel and is equipped with a low-signature exhaust-obscuration system. Firmware and connectors compatible with any unit of the Mark I series guarantee unlimited expansion capability, making the CAT system a cost-effective countermeasure to the projected spectrum of rodent-threat scenarios well into the next century.
