bhoqeem: It'd prefer it it adds more depth and back story to either the original dweller of the hut, or to the "Lifting the Curse" quest
If the buildup contained as much depth as or somehow tied into the curse-lifting quest, the end of said quest would be seriously less entertaining because of how unexpected it is. In fact, the only thing in the entire game that really matches that level of weirdness is when you meditate with the Visionary's special potion on Roche's path. It never promises to turn into anything epic, so it differentiates itself from other quests so that you never have to worry about them having a similarly "fluff" ending.
It's light and entertaining and not really relevant to anything, so I found collecting a bunch of harpy feathers to be appropriate, personally. Besides, it was kind of amusing given that the only thing they said about the quest was that it rewarded those who demonstrate patience :)
