Kitad: ugh, some thing really bothers me

"Unfortunately, the game [Witcher 1] was far from perfect and had a number of glaring issues. It was too difficult and too hardcore, and what’s worse, it was clearly designed with only PC in mind. It had soon become clear that if the game were to be brought to the wider audience, some things had to be changed."

I really hate it when people say this. Witcher 1 was not more hardcore or harder. Just because it was point and click, does not make the game more hardcore. Perhaps bitter fanboys want to make us believe that, but the truth is that the combat in the witcher 1 was really simple and specially easy.
Sorry to break you, but that part about the game being "too hardcore" was sarcasm.
He was mocking Tomas Gops' P.R. work.

By the way, I find his review way too snarky (and in a very cheap way) and overall quite annoying.

Umm, actually the WHOLE review is sarcastic and it's just a one big baseball bat bash @ The WItcher 2. At first I was confused but it became clear at the end:

CD Projekt didn’t build on the Witcher’s formula and design foundation. Instead they’ve tried something different, which, sadly, has shown the first sign of abandoning the hardcore audience and going after a larger market. While business is business, we can only hope that CD Projekt will go back to making RPGs and will pick more appropriate inspirations for the third game than Heavy Rain and Goddamn Batman.

That's the problem when you make the entire review sarcasm. Its truly one of the worst things I've read yet.

But my comment still applies because people still claim this on this forums.

Kitad: Jesus that was the worst review I've ever read. It was seriously confusing and obnoxious.

And not because I disagree with the point he is trying to make, its the writing and fact that the reviewer uses sarcasm for entire sections so you are confused as to each new paragraph the writer is serious or just being sarcastic again.

Was the DA2 quote another sarcasm, or just a typo? Gee.

On top of that, using sarcasm to scoff at every aspect of the game comes off as if the reviewer hates everything about it. But the worst part is that just by the end he says "so this game is a labor of love and worth playing even with its flaws"... Huh? Really? Are we sure he is not being sarcastic again?

Someone fire whoever wrote that waste of minutes.
They clearly want to come across as really, really clever. We get it guys. You're clever. Now try and write a serious review. Lots of reviews fall into this trap. It's as if they are hoping someone will write a review about their gloriously witty review.
