The direct updates are garbage (stick to manual updates—they'll make your life much easier), and language packs/DLC only required registration a looooong time ago. Not anymore.

I actually think the only thing you need to register the game for anymore is to be able to post your arena score on the official Witcher forums. If you choose to submit a score, it shows up on there as an ugly stat thing under your username that shows your rank and makes my eyes bleed.

Anyway, I registered way back on 1.0 so I'm not familiar with how it works now, but do you not have the "register game" option like in the attached picture? Or does that not work for you?

Go to your Witcher 2 folder and click Register.exe. That should open up something like in the attached picture, which is the same screen that clicking the button on the launcher should open.

What version of the game do you have, by the way? Did you download it from here without installing any patches?

The game updated to latest patch so I believe..not sure where I find version number But It did install 2 patches at least.

It's likely that the CD-key isn't even necessary to register anymore. It'd make sense since some of the "Version 2.0" boxed copies came without keys. I wouldn't worry about it, especially if it said that you registered.

By the way, if you downloaded/installed the game from here, two patches means you're updated all the way.
