Hi,

My rig is:
============
Core 2 Duo 6400
ATI HD 5770
4 GB Ram.

I have about 20-25 fps. When I change the resolution to higher, always I have the same Fps.
Could you help me?

Try disabling Ubersampling, if it is not already.

Good grief there has to be a hundred of these threads.

You have an AMD HD5770. If you didn't observe the intro to the game it has a HUGE sign, it's an Nvidia game. If you use google, you'll find out AMD has stated they did not have the final Witcher 2 version to have proper drivers for it at launch. If you check CatalystCreator's twitter channel he says a hotfix driver for Witcher 2 will be released soon this week.

Use google. Takes a few minutes only.

You have an old CPU that is slower than the minimum requirement and has a small cache. The number of resources in the game is a killer for under-spec CPUs.

Since I have gotten better frame rate from lesser ATI cards (a 5670 doing 25-30 fps), do not blame ATI.

It's not blaming. It's straight from the horse's mouth. It is an AMD issue, FYI there is no ATi, no one works for ATi any longer. And again yes it's a known AMD issue and AMD has admitted and recognized the issue. They have been rushing past week to even provide a hotfix driver for both single and dual gpu users.

So yes, you're wrong.

Latest update from the mentioned Twitter:

"Update - we will have Brink and Witcher 2 hotfix driver released this week. (hoping in the next couple of days). Stay tuned.
23 hours ago"

The 1.1 patch for the game is also expected to be released this evening (but no guarantees) with a likely 5-30% performance boost for "many users". I'm also playing on a HD5770, so yeah hopefully we're included in that :P

So the problem is the CPU.
Is the only game that doesn't works properly, until Crysis 2 goes well with my CPU.

I have a 5770 and have great frame rates.
playing at 1280 x 800
settings on high.
no super sampling
shadows on medium
v-sync on
45-60 FPS.
using 10.10 drivers.

its probably your cpu yes. I would wait til the patch comes out tonight before making a move to upgrade it tho, unless you have money lying around then go do what i did and get out of the dual core and get a amd phenom ii x4, dirt cheap right now.

Why assume it's the CPU. Drivers from AMD have increased some game performance by up to 40% in the past.

So yes, you're wrong.
Then why is my rig with a faster CPU (Wolfdale E6300, 3.33 GHz vs. the OP's Conroe E6400, stock clock 2.13 GHz) and lesser GPU getting better frame rate? At 1680x1050, high settings except for the usual turn-downs.

I agree, there are problems with the AMD drivers, AMD is working on them, and the OP should wait for the game patch and the hotfix before doing anything else.

What they are not, is they are not crippling problems, not indications that the game was optimized specifically for nVidia (have you been reading the complaints from nVidia users, or just ignoring everything that does not fit your preconceived notion that this is an AMD-only issue), and I do not believe they are solely or even mostly responsible for the OP's low frame rate.

Frame rate that doesn't vary with graphics settings or resolution sounds like CPU limiting.
