It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

StingingVelvet: If all he did is hack the viewport to be larger then you will likely see some bugs and visual flaws. It's not as simple as just flicking a switch, that's why it wasn't done before release when the complaints started.

Maybe it somehow works perfectly though, I wouldn't know and am not going to bother with it.

shadowguard: Here are screenshots sou you can see how it works.

@maul_inc
In order to work You must start TW2 directly via witcher2.exe, not via launcher.
I already did. And I have launched both witcher2.exe and the widescreen tool with "run as administrator". I don't get it. I feel stupid, as everybody else seems to get it to work.

And I'm not exactly a noob when it comes to using tools like this or other strange methods for games. I don't get it. :-(
@StingingVelvet
Well, this is THE ONLY soultion for people with non 16:9 monitors. And work well.

@maul_inc
Did you checked all the options (remove horizontal black bars, remove vertical black bars, stretch HUD verticaly) and did you selected GOG version on the right?

Well, for 16:10 monitors like mine the bars are barely noticeable, but I am going to assume you mean 4:3 and 5:4 monitors. In any case I never said don't use it, I said keep an eye out for visual issues like I described. Personally I would much rather see bars than see stuff like that.

OK, in 16:10 bars are barely noticeable but are still there, right?;)
Maybe you do not mind but there are plenty of people who doesn't like black bars (I have been particularly irritating by them).
Do I have to open the program and then start the game and press the chosen hotkey for it to work properly?
Has anyone else had problems with other 16:9 resolutions than 1920*1080?
I have a 1080p monitor and get black bars in all other 16:9 resolutions but 1920*1080
(also with 16:10 naturally). I find it quite weird...

You right click the program and chose "run in administrative mode", then you select all 3 boxes and select either Steam or GOG version. Keep the program running and run witcher2.exe with "run in administrative mode" and it should work without hitting any hotkey or anything else.

Remember, don't run the launcher.exe, run the witcher2.exe when starting the game

Doesn't work for me neither . Trying with GOG version on 1600x1200 4:3 CRT monitor. Black bars still there taking about 1/3 of my screen... Wonder why the developer will do such an annoying and stupit thing as putting those black bars there...
It got rid of the black bars for me, but there's some fucked up blur effect as a side effect that happens whenever you move the camera or move your character, so can't really use it.

And no, I'm not talking about motionblur.

so u run witcher2.exe in admin mode.... the steam itself will run and the launcher itself will still come out ?so u still have to go through the launcher to launch the game am i right?

ignore my previous post.... IT WORK !!! woo amazing
Did not work for me. Tried everything mentioned above. Maybe because i am Using Win XP?
It works a treat for me, to get proper 16:10 ratio on my 1920x1200 monitor. Many thanks for posting this!
The Tool just can´t find the Witcher 2 Process. I am starting with the witcher2.exe. I am using the GoG Version 1.0.6041.43456. I also slected the GoG Version in the Tool. But still cannot find the Process. I am running as Administrator.
