ive beaten him 8 times vs his 2 wins and he still says im not worthy enough...

I found that if he wins the match immediately after initiating dialogue, he won't acknowledge my worthiness if I win after. However, if I end the conversation then restart it and win the first match then, he'll find me worthy.

Glad it worked. (Though, I didn't have to reload. I just cancelled the convo, talked to him again, then beat him right away.)

It didn't work for EXACTLY as dbnortheast recommended but - I think - similarly, I am not entirely sure.
I believe I talked to him, canceled the conversateion and THEN I had to win 2 times in row for him to find me worthy.
Not a major issues, especially given what the "reward", which also doesn't showm for many people, is supposed to be, but it is annoying.
