I Downloaded the EE patch via the launcher, and when trying to extract, it keeps telling me that an error occurred when trying to read the source file of pl0.w2strings because it's corrupted... any way to get around this?? I'm not really in the mood to DL the whole thing all over again...

i guess you have more patch files corrupted. by the looks of the file i guess it has something to do with the polish translation of the game. Try to download and overwrite the polish files from http://en.thewitcher.com/ee_manual/ where you're patch is and try to install the patch again
I posted the solution in a similar post.

That is odd, because I specifically did NOT download the Polish voiceovers.... for some reason when adding them (as well as the Russian voiceovers) to the download, it went from 12GB to 26GB, even though it said those files were less than 2GB together.... So I didn't download them.

This is a pain. I'm going to try to download them and see if that fixes anything.... might as well DL the Russian ones too, just in case. :\

edit: Downloading polish voiceovers didn't fix anything. >_> I'm gonna try your solution Fluton, step by step... wish me luck

Step 5 says to "click retry then quickly delete the corrupted file", but as soon as I click retry, it pops back up immediately. There is no time to delete the corrupted file... :\

Ok, so I tried deleting the file before opening the patching file instead, and I got the message saying patch files were missing, then downloaded the new file then clicked OK in the message window, but I'm still getting the pl0.w2strings corruption error. Note that I'm NOT getting "pack0.dzip" error, it's specifically saying "pl0.w2strings", as well as whatever other files are after that.

This is a pain.

did your downloading accidentally stopped in the middle for some reason? try using a different download manager. I myself used the firefox' built-in one.

no, my solution is not only about pack0.dzip. I had file corruption alerts at three different points. the last two were something other than pack0.dzip. I did what I had described and now my witcher 2 ee is up and running.

edit: another possible reason is, similar to pack0.dzip, that pl0.w2strings is not contained in only one patch file. try going back to step 2) and repeat. if i'm right, this time you'll not be able to rename a different file.

edit2: here's the trick for quickly deleting the corrupted file - chose the delete option without confirming it. instead, you drag the confirmation box to a handy spot where you can quickly get your pointer on it after pressing retry with the patcher. if done in the right way, it takes less than 1 second. unless your hard drive was super fast, you should have no difficulty doing that.

Heh, that's what I've been doing. But as I've said, there is no time at all for me to confirm the delete. It pops back up immediately. I'm going to try to replace a different files manually as you suggested, seems like my best option... If this doesn't work , I'm just going to uninstall, then reinstall the whole thing from scratch. If I install it from scratch, the file on GoG should automatically include the EE, right?

seems like you are still unclear about how my solution works. I'm just going to explain it with an example.

say that pl0.w2strings is so large it has to be contain in both TW2EE_Patch-18.bin and TW2EE_Patch-19.bin, which, somehow, were both corrupted. When the patcher stopped and alerted you that pl0.w2strings was corrupted, you discovered and re-downloaded 18 using my suggestion. However, since 19 is also corrupted, later the patcher would stop and alert you again that pl0.w2strings was till corrupted. then you went back to 2) and repeat the whole process. eventually, you would find out that this time, it was 19 that needed to be re-downloaded.

as to the quick response of your computer, are you running a high end one? try stalling your system by running some large scale applications simultaneously, preferably 3D games or active p2p downloading.

I corrected all corruption issue with my solution and did not have to download the whole new ee version installer, so can't comment on this one.

I wasn't unclear, I said I was going to try redownloading multiple files. :\
But I didn't need to replace them while the patch was installing, it worked by just deleting them and replacing them. BTW, it wasn't 18 that was corrupt, it was 15 (and 16)
I have the same problem but i cannot find P10.w2strings in my files, so what file do i place the patch into?
