I don't think that CDPR is that naive. They know there would be some pirating. I would imagine the hope is that their true customers enjoy the game and that there is enough of them to support future endeavors. Pirated copies don't fo rthe most part reporesent lost sales. Thieves will steal no matter what.

I think its you that doesnt get it,CDPR new it would be pirated but they are hoping that the people that buy games will buy it,and thats the way it works people that get the pirated game were never gonna buy it anyway so its not a lost sale.The people they want to atract are the people that DO buy games and i think they will sell millions just like the last game.

NOW better concentrate on CONSOLE exclusive now. Probably getting pirated BUT at least it will sell Millions and not sissies.
I think you're overreacting. So far only 50 people got an illegal copy of the game thus far. (though there are 1000 people trying to)

CDPR knew pirating would happen, they tried their best to get as many people to not pirate the game as they could and so far, looking at their pre-order ratings, it paid off.

Believe me... CDPR will come to their senses like MAJORITY of the developers.. Make CONSOLE games.. port to PC later. Apparent for this reason.

However, I still don't get it. I too am looking forward to play it, but I have been waiting years, 24 hours does not make any difference at all for me.

Erm thats what i just said they wouldnt have bought it anyway so no loss,and as your from Malaysia you should no alot about pirated goods because when i was there EVERYTHING on sale was knock off lol.

They are doing a terrific job! Like I said, first time I buy a game, that's how I feel about this, it's going to be great. I'll save some money for future expansions and whatever they release.

Well I quit being a pirate thanks to CDPR. I bought the witcher 1 & 2 to support them.
The community of the witcher is huge. A lot of people will refrain from going into the community because they feel out of place there if they have a pirated copy. So they feel left out. I know I used to.

welp Skidrow just released a copy of TW2 english with crack and everything.

i was thinking since i bought the game.that i could just go and download the skidrow version.
but it's going to take around 3-4 hours to do so.( if it has enough seeders). but by then i have to go to work.

by the time i come back it should be 11pm i hope GOG is releasing the game at 12am tuesday.

i was kinda hoping they would release it a bit early. :(

I believe there is no such thing as the pirate. That is too general. There are many different motivations to pirate games. And some of these will actually become customers in some situations or some time in the future.

Im by no means saying pirating is right im just not up with the linch mob on lets hang em all,im not perfect we ALL have done things in life that break some rules for whatever reason i dont pre judge people because i dont know all the facts.But i can see that someone who has a lower grade of life to me could want to have a bit of fun in there sit lives and if getting a pirated game is how they do it then good on them.

To see what happens when you make a game for consoles and then piss of PC-Gamers by not only doing a crappy port, but taking a year to do it too, you can look at Fable 3.

And wait for it, they are gonna blame the abysmal sales on pirates.
