Ask your parents to explain, assuming they haven't already disowned you for being brain damaged.
I Agree, lots of things let me speculate that tw2 WAS cross-platform developed.

howewer, if cross-platform developed games will have THIS standard of quality and not a simplification more than this ( for example I am sad for alchemy without alchool and the lack of usefulness of food )...it's ok for me.
go away troll (export) if u cant explain your opinion clearly without so much hate ^

Consoles are being built to be used on the current tech standards of the time they are released..this takes so long because the longer they leave it the more profit they get... Ud have to be insane to just simply "i like what i got i dont want better ".. because thats the reason why everything u can think of gets better.. TV,Internet, mobile phones,PC,OS..its all pointing upwards for better!..

so no clue why your happy to stick with outdated games built for outdated platforms. And im not talking about stopping every console game.. Im just saying PC should keep PC and let the console have what they already crippled.

Let them port it to consoles.

I'd really love to see how they can (or cannot) make this stellar-looking PC game look and run on the aging PS3 and especially X360 console. This will be VERY interesting - as this is probably the best looking PC game on the market right now and that console hardware is getting very, very old.

Just, one thing - when doing PC versions and console versions, make sure you make them WORK RIGHT on their respective platform and take advantage of each platform's strengths.

revial: Based on your -18 rep, I am going to assume you're a troll, since they've always said the game was going to go to the consoles.
He has a point, dont know of 1 game especially rpg's that got progressively worse adfter going to the more casual console market, open your eyes. The reason The Witcher 2 was so good is people rarely make games like i anymore, we usually get games like LA noire, where the game hols your hand and failjng impossible. You know you played a console game when you only die a couple times the entire time.

Dont know why but most console games seem to eb afraid to challenge you or make you think at all.
Agreed MysterD :)

I think all the PC pro gamers would love to be proven wrong but the traditional trend lately is "Sell out make a bad game - Bioware).. so lets hope they atleast do what u just said :)

Id be interested aswell because they would need to remove so much of the stuff that people love..theres no way some of the stuff would work on the console unless they removed it and changed it completely

thanks masterofpuppetz good to see fellow progamers voice the current state of cross platform games :)

I think one point in this Console / PC discussion all the time is easily forgotten:

One could say that the XBOX 360 IS A PC, and uses DX9 as well.

So just because a game works on both systems doesn't necessarily mean huge disadvantages for the PC version technical wise.

Mostly you just have to adjust the configuration of the engine and use a different compiler and different libraries but most of the source code stays the same. So do the models, the textures, the sounds. Some models are polygon reduced, some textures get scaled down for the XBOX version, but that does no harm to the PC version whatsoever.

A good GUI and good Controls should be playable with as few visible information and as few buttons as possible!

So just because a game is game-pad compatible, or uses large fonts in its GUI doesn't make it a bad / dumped down game. It's true the other way round. Good controls shouldn't involve pressing 10 keys at once.

It's not the amount of buttons / keys that counts, its the mechanic, the gameplay. This again, has little to nothing to do with the system the game runs on.

It's not the system, it's always the game developers choice.

Don't like a feature? Blame the developer. Engine doesn't run smooth? Blame the developer.

But please stop blaming it on that the game is supposed to run on another system in the future.
I'm enjoying the game, absolutely. I am not all that impressed by the engine and UI so far, though. Not even an "invert mouse" function? How did that even get past beta testing? There are definite overtones of "console game" in this, but even though I find it a little wacky, and I would love to see someone stay true to the PC game, it's not enough for me to think less of the company (CDP ROCKS), or to think less of the game.

Great game, CDP. Looking forward to the patches and engine tweaks that are forthcoming. :)
^ dont really understand what your saying Doofdilla :( care to explain that differently ??

The xbox is a computer yes but its a computer built along time ago on very poor hardware by todays standards. So even though it can play DX9 games it also means the enviroments in DX9 need to be alot smaller or itll be unplayable. Thats one of the biggest failings on the console as they need to reduce alot to get anything decently sized playing nicely.

If u go download a PC game from the exact time of the Xbox 360 release u might see what im trying to explain.

Skorne: This game does have a slight case of consolitis I must admit.
It may have a touch of "consolitis" in the interface design, but not in terms of gameplay. If the PC audience is crying as much as it is about the challenge of the game, its going to go over like a lead balloon to the mainstream console audience, unless they dumb it down with more hand holding, or re-label the difficulty levels.
i spent sometime looking at reviews and noticed the console general community are struggling to either figure out how to run this game or to play it due to its difficulty..i watched a video of some console guy playing the same part over n over again for ages until he figured out to simply use a sign to help him LOL

they will definitely need to dumb this down..the console is for the casual gamers..and casual gamers only play dumbd down games..i dont think theres a console game that hasnt been dumbd down in some way lol

You think because a person plays a console game that we need it dumbed down for us to play? Do you have any idea how much of a moron you make yourself seem? There is nothing wrong with liking both pc games and console games. Both are quite fun. I have been into consoles since the nes, and have had a hell of a time playing console games. I have only been using a pc for games for about 5 years, and I certainly dont need anything *dumbed* down for me to play and enjoy.

But you go ahead and keep thinking that way. Whatever makes you happy :)
its not just what i think...when PC game websites say "port" it immediatly means "dumbd down" among other things.

name 1 game that isnt dumbd down for a console ?...

Off the top of my head, I would say Final Fantasy 7. That worked amazingly well on pc AND console. But this was a few years ago, before all the new fangled stuff. And yes I have played both, and I found both pretty decent to play. One of my alltime favorite games in fact
