before patch:
ran with all on except - ultrasampling, motion blur, AA, bloom; 45-60 fps

after patch:
with same settings runs at 25 - 45 fps

odd part:
after the patch setting everything to low/disabled only improves framerate by ~10fps

specs:
i7 950 @ 3.07 GHz
nvidia gtx 470 with 1.25 gb memory
12gb ram

Anyone have ideas?

Thanks!

Yes the patch is making the game run worse, now they have to come up with a patch to fix the 1.1 patch LOL besides running slow there is a stuttering now
I've been one of the lucky ones it seems, I haven't noticed any drop in performance since the patch. I wonder whats really causing it?
As others have posted, try deleteing your INI file, and resetting your graphics options. The game resets them, and perhaps the patch re-enabled items that you disabled for performance.
You guys are lucky - I cannot even get the 1.1. to install! I get "Installed game version is invalid or incomplete".

Well given I can still run and start the game, I know it's not "incomplete", so that leaves version invalid. I have the UK retail version and am using the international path as recommended!

You need to temporarily remove all mods you've installed.

Also, you may need to remove the troll dlc file IF you've already gotten it from the game or other sources.

Haven't installed any mods, and already deleted troll.dlc and tried the Patch_ROW as well, and no joy. But a huge thanks for trying to help!
Likewise. I lost a solid 10-12 FPS and graphics look blurrier.
Tried deleting ini with no improvement to framerate.

Thinking my best solution is to uninstall and reinstall with no internet connection so it won't auto-patch?
I went to my Nephew's today. He installed TW2 3 days ago. He clicked on the desktop icon and couldn;t get the launcher to start. He downloaded the Rest of the World 1.1 patch and got the same error as me (see above). Because he couldn't get the game to start 2 days after he last played it okay, he uninstalled and reinstalled. Obviously the launcher auto downloaded and installed the 1.1 patch with no problem.

This means there must be a problem with the manual install of the exe. Obviously my Nephew solved it by reinstalls, but he had to as his Witcher 2 had stopped working for some reason. My game actually runs with no problem, so I am loathe to uninstall and reinstall, and to be honest, I don;t see why I should have to, just to install a patch!

Which .ini did you delete? There are two.
The one you need to delete is in your (example) c:\users\username\my documents\witcher 2\config. (this is assuming you've got Win7. XP/Vista is probably similar).
You should ignore the one in the game directory.
I finally got the 1.1 to install, Although I don't see any screen that tells me the version number. How did I do it? I looked in my downloads folder in my C:\My Documents\Witcher 2\ and low and behold there was a patch_ROW.exe in there. I ran it, and it installed, whereas presumably the same exe I downloaded called the same thing didn't!

Don't know when the patch_ROW downloaded, but in any event it's all weird. And why the lightning bolt in the top left hand corner of the Launcher that says "online" when you mouse over it? Am I online the whole time I am playing this or just when the launcher is open?

To say nothing has been normal about the installation and patching of this game is an understatement! The game may be fantastic, but the technology around it seems to have been messed around wih to make it easier to get the game code on console. I don't trust CD Projekt right now as much as I did on May 16th.

I deleted the ini in my documents folder. Anyone else seeing this behavior?
Actually my performance has gotten better since the patch and it wasn't all that bad before. Running i7 960, ati 5770 card, and 6 gb of DDR3 ram.
