Ah, thanks for the brief explanation :) I managed to find SNES versions of VI and VII, emulated them on my Nintendo DSi now. It's a perfect platform for old games :) I guess finding 8 and 9 won't be too hard if I like 6 and 7 enough to want to continue :D
I'm glad you have the games already. That was fast!

I played U7 The Black Gate and Serpent Isle first before U6, due to graphics reason. Took a little adjustments to get around to the feeling of "very old game graphics/UI" in U6, but once I got the hang of it, I was hooked. Black Gate and Serpent Isle were even better. I was affected for so long with these games.

Happy hours upon hours of gaming galore, mate!

The X-Files generation? Gee, I wonder if I count. Started watching the show when I was 8, it was so good. I need to re-watch it one day.
Well, Star Trek Next Gen, X-Files, and Millenium generation to be precise. But you're definitely older than me if you watched X-Files at 8. I remember having a deep crush to Scully when I was in High School that made me a sucker for Red Head--even now.

It breaks my heart seeing "Mulder" playing Californication.

Hik.

Hehe, yeah, the ROMs are really easy to find. I played VI for a few minutes, laughed at the fact the game assumed I was a dude and now I'm a dude with a girl's name. Oh well :D It may take me some time to get used to graphics and controls, but exploration seems really fun!

I wouldn't know. I'm 23. Oh The X-Files crushes! Mulder was a cutie and I really liked Krychek, especially after he got infected with black oil thing (I barely remember the plot, but I remember his eyes going completely black, it looked so cool *_*) Scully inspired me to dye my hair red when I was old enough to do it :D

I didn't follow Millennium as closely, I'm afraid, but it was a good show. As for Star Trek, I only liked Voyager, it had some amazing female characters. This thread is making me so nostalgic :(

Errrm, back to topic. The Witcher 1! Yes! A great game. I would like to see how old characters would look like in the new engine. The Dryads, Lady of the Lake, Yaevinn (I googled a pic of him recently and he looks so... unfortunate), the bad guys... EVERYONE.

Rectify this. Now.

I own all Valve games, but there's just not enough hours in the day :(

Plus my love affair with The Witcher 2 hasn't ended yet.

There are plenty of hours in the day if you just eliminate that pesky sleep business. Also, I remember from another thread that you've played Portal 2, and getting to that point without having played Half Life is an affront to the natural order of things. As I said... this must be rectified, for great justice.

Be a gaming polygamist? It has all the benefits of real-life polygamy, minus the danger of being stabbed by a jealous lover. Highly recommended.

Ahahahahahaaa /reaches for Steam

I played Portal because it was free, then Portal 2 because the first one was so amazing. To be honest, I barely knew about HL, I just assumed it was some kind of a mindless shooter. Okay, okay, installing HL1 now :V

/me beholds a copy of the monolithic box and reaches for popcorn. Playthroughs flash by, like a projected noire; most in blacks and a few in whites, then an echo from the blackness and the butterfly corn crumbles under awe.

"Hello Mr. Freeman, I hope everything is in order"

Heheh. I'm 36. Guess I forgot about the reruns. The black oil was indeed my favorite arch story, besides their usual "one day in the life of....", but I hate the "monster of the week" arches.

Millenium, I love Frank Black and his daughter Jordan. Too bad it ended so fast.

I like voyagers as well, though not as much as STNG. For me personally, Star Trek was started at STNG instead of TOS. Could never understood TOS. Chaotic Captain Kirk wasn't exactly the type that inspired respect in my book. I like the structure, order and decorum that Picard radiated. Old school, yes, but a necessary feature in a nonetheless military vessel.

So happy to find many gamers inspired by old games here.

Well I don't think I watched it from season 1 and I also watched a subtitled version, so it technically wasn't a re-run ;) It was so long ago I don't remember all the arches, just bits and pieces of a few episodes. I haven't even seen the ending because I lost interest after the whole Scully gets pregnant deal, it was so stupid. That's another reason why I want to rewatch the entire series :)

I haven't seen many Star Treks since I normally don't like sci-fi. Voyager was the only one that kept my attention.

This is Good Old Games forum, after all :) Old games deserve to live on, that's for sure.

Well....if I could give you the link(s) to download the ENTIRE series at your leisure, would you like it? Otherwise, of course it's Amazon or ebay.

Your choice, though.

Wink-wink.

I know where to get them :) Thanks for the offer, though!

Okey-dokey :)

I actually have the complete set I bought from a video store years ago. But there's no way I could upload them with my Dial-Up connections. Hence the offer.

But It's OK. I'm glad you like the series. It's one of the best. To bad it's Fox's. Heheh.
This thread has gone so far off-topic that it's ridiculous.

One topic had to be sacrificed until we get a proper forum with General discussion :) For the greater good and all that.
